About Inkpen

Hi, I'm Inkpen! I'm an inter-disciplinary artist and producer making all of the things:
I write poetry, choreograph dance, produce theatre and videos, and sing music.

Whilst studying my Masters I am doing what I am calling The Catalyst Project - a monthly themed exploration of human-nature relationships through art and discussion. Under the broader question of “how are humans and nature interconnected (and how can the relationship be improved)?”, the themes will be topics such as the politics of landscape, the wisdom of oceans, capitalist perceptions of time, and alternative motherhoods to name just a few initial ideas.

Each month, based on the topic I will release:
  • A short essay
  • A new poem or other piece of art I have created
  • Creative prompts and discussions questions for deeper explorations
  • A spotlight on an artist who has created work(s) on the theme, accompanied with an interview where possible
  • A spotlight on an activist campaign related to the theme, with an introduction to the issue and a simple guide of how you can get involved
All of these things (except the creative prompts) will be available publicly for free, and then if you support me here on Patreon you'll get extra content that will help you explore these ideas creatively, emotionally, and intellectually - check out the tiers for the details on that!

What I’m hoping to cultivate on Patreon is a little community of people who are really interested in exploring these ideas in more depth. Whether you're an artist (of any kind!) looking to introduce environmental themes to your work or simply someone who wants to find their place in nature, then I invite you to join me on this journey as I try to work it out for myself.

By pledging on Patreon you'll also get access to all the work I posted here before I started this project - behind-the-scenes insights, work in progress poems, original songs and much more!

And if you can't afford to support me here there's no hard feelings whatsoever - you can find my work on instagram (@iiinkpen) and on my website.

Wow, there's more of you than the number of years I've lived! (just)

If I reach 25 supporters I'll do a one-off livestream delivering a workshop on how to write found poetry. I created it for the poets I worked with on Run Softly (2019), and it explores the benefits and techniques of this intertextual style.
