Paul Garver Hi Jack, Patreon is a good service, glad to have a convenient way to show my appreciation to Zach. BUT: the website is sooo slow! I don't know how many people this affects, could just be my work virus checker interfering (uk bank, they're big on things like that, wish I knew enough details to help you fix it), but it took so long that I nearly gave up and didn't donate.

Jack Orman I recommend a book called "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell, which investigates why a song, video or idea suddenly catches on, and then spreads at a phenomenal rate. From one of the reviews on the book: "The thrust of the book is that there are three things that can converge to bring about dramatic and perhaps unexpectedly fast changes in our society. These are the context (the situational environment - especially when it's near the balance or 'tipping point'), the idea, and the people involved. His point is that very small changes in any or several of the context, the quality of the idea (which he calls 'stickiness', ie how well the idea sticks), or whether the idea reaches a very small group of key people can trigger a dramatic epidemic of change in society." http://www.amazon.com/Tipping-Point-Little-Things-Difference/dp/0316346624/

Larry Summers Some people say there is no luck. I say there are no accidents. Chaos adds a bit of imbalance, enough to bring about viral media.

Seth Millstein I agree with everything you said. Luck is such a huge underrated part of success. My conclusion that the only thing that's close to a sure bet is to work really, really hard, not give up, and continuously put out a quality product. That seems to be the best course of action to me.
