Hi, I'm Jackson Tegu! I make weird, silly, beautiful analog story games. Some tabletop, some live-action walking-around games.

Many of my games are small. They're tightly-focused and presented so that they're easy to learn – many are learned as you play, where reading the rules is part of the game. Some of my games are experimental. I use them to hammer out new concepts, and they might be more interesting as thought experiments than play experiences. Many of my games come from a desire to open an emotional space for players to step into.

"Jackson Tegu's passion, compassion, and wide variety of endeavors have been a blessing to the creative communities of the Pacific Northwest for many years and have now grown potent enough that they can no longer be contained by mere geography."
- Jonathan Walton, creator of The Planarch Codex and Metrofinal

"Jackson's games have made my life better. His design ideas are inspiring and accessible, the sort that bring people closer together through play. I'm so delighted that he's now putting more of his work out there."
- Avery Alder, creator of Monsterhearts and The Quiet Year

"I really love [the game designs of] Jackson Tegu because every new thing is different, not just from each other, but from everything else. It's like every new game he offers provides a view into a different universe."
- Moyra Turkington, creator of War Birds and Run Them Again

"Hopefully you are learning to pay close attention to Jackson Tegu."
- Jason Morningstar, creator of Fiasco and Night Witches

It's easy to recognize certain threads through my projects - that all people should be treated with respect and dignity, that those affected should be consulted, and that wonder can be found through fruitful juxtaposition and by drawing on what's outside of the frame.

Oh, I have a website. But I update my Patreon page more frequently!

So, with your help I'll be making 1 or 2 new games every month! Eventually some works will find homes on other parts of the web, some works will quickly become free for all, collections, print, who knows, all kinds. As a patron, you'll see them first and have them, along with my gratitude.
Via your kind donation, I shall populate the world with treasures!

Egg Hunt possibility!
  • Enter your simple object/concept/thing into a random pool for its future inclusion in one of my projects! Once or twice a year I'll have one of your "eggs" quietly appear in something I'm in the midst of working on, without telling you. Eventually I'll get in touch to get another from you. (Let's not do copyright infringement stuff or bad taste stuff, obviously).
  • And all the varied treasures, the joyful tear, the website and project shout-outs, print collections at cost, plus an additional bonus joyful tear because wow!

Host an Interweb Simulplay
I'll host a simulplay of some game of mine, organized over the wildest of internets; we'll set it up so that anyone who wants to can play that game at the same time with their home group or beyond, plus internet-chat about it beforehand and afterwards. This sounds fun! I wonder what we'll play?
