About Jamie Benning of Filmumentaries.com
Please Note: You can include a monthly maximum pledge, so don't worry!
What do you produce?
Since 2006 I've made five feature-length unofficial documentaries, or filmumentaries as I call them. I've already done feature length projects on Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jaws. You can check them out at filmumentaries.com.
Now I want to make more, but in a smaller, more digestible form as short videos and podcasts (as of Jan 2021, I am 16 episodes in! Thanks!).
Go on...
I would love to continue to create projects in the vein of my filmumentaries, but on a smaller scale by talking to people involved in the film industry. Particularly those that worked on our favourite 70s and 80s blockbusters. .

I'd like to make some short video and long form podcast interviews with more unsung heroes. A couple of years ago I spoke to special effects guru Kevin Pike about his work on Back to the Future and Return of the Jedi, puppeteer Toby Philpott about his time Inside Jabba the Hutt and with veteran puppeteer Dave Barclay about his work with Yoda in Do Or Do Not.

I want to speak to as many people as I can, but I need your help! My intention is to build up an archive that is free to all (with your help of course) and for many generations to come. There are so many stories from the film industry that are untold! The advantage of producing shorter docos and podcast interviews is that I can utilise movie clips as part of 'fair use' as these videos are intended to be educational and informative as well as entertaining.
So how can I help?
Well if there's an amount of money that you wouldn't miss if it fell out of your pocket, that would be the perfect amount to donate. As little as $1 per month would be amazing. The more donations I get, the more impressive the videos, as I intend to invest much of the money straight back in to this endeavour.
Do I get anything extra as a patron?
If you donate $3 or more you get an audio file with the full interview, including the bits where I ask the questions and have a chat with the interviewee. If you donate $6 or more you get an signed Inside Jaws poster and for $15 and above you get a limited edition Inside Jabba the Hutt print (only six left).
Your support is very much appreciated.
