I'm Michael Jantze. I create comics, illustrations and animation. But honestly, I don't create enough comics. With Patreon, I hope to fund a consistent publishing schedule for my new weekly "The Norm" comic strip. It's a continuation of my syndicated comic strip "The Norm" that ran from 1996 to 2006.
Animation directing is a time vortex. I want to use your collective support – through Patreon – to allow me to "say no" and reserve some time to make comics.
For 2015, I'll focus my energy on making a weekly comic and a YouTube comic readeo and, eventually, comic collections (all of which, as a patron, you'll have rewards and/or discounts to). Hopefully, if the funding allows, I'll begin publishing a new feature, probably titled "Family Theater".

THE PAST:
I wrote and drew "The Norm" daily for 11 years, but I pulled the strip to make time for animation projects, which, honestly, paid better. "The Norm" books and ebooks continued to sell and I missed creating super short stories.
Two years ago I decided to finish a "The Norm" graphic novel. I had too much fun working with Norm again, so at the beginning of this year, I made a commitment to make a weekly strip. You'll find the fruits of that effort at GoComics (new strips are currently on Mondays) in "The Norm 4.0".
THE FUTURE:
"The Norm 4.0" comes with a developing idea: Comics for both print and the new frontier. I call them "comic readeos" because they are videos you read. Hopefully they're not only clever, but funny and relevant. I want to make comics you take with you. "The Norm 4.0" is also at gocomics.com/the-norm-4-0/ in print form.
Come on this journey with me. I've planned out the YouTube page, a new GoComics page and, most importantly, exclusives published only here on Patreon. I'll continue to fine tune something that's both funny, innovative and thoughtful (see how I added a third one there? That's the innovative part).

You'll receive an original comic strip (one per year) with all the mistakes and erasing. The strips are all sorts of sizes; an older THE NORM dailies image is 4 x 13 inches and Sundays come in many different sizes, all bigger.
