Artwork from my novelette "Mirrorblink," originally published in the British magazine Interzone. Art created by the amazing Warwick Fraser-Coombe.I love both reading and writing short stories. I believe short stories are the perfect length to create compelling new worlds and explore exciting new ideas. And I believe speculative fiction is the perfect genre for great short stories which reveal the truth about the reality around us.
I am a two-time Nebula Award finalist who has published dozens of stories in Asimov's Science Fiction, Analog: Science Fiction and Fact, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, InterGalactic Medicine Show, the British SF magazine Interzone, and many other places. Books containing my stories include multiple "year's best" story collections along with original anthologies such as Bless Your Mechanical Heart. To learn more about my fiction head over to my website.
My goal with this Patreon is to not only continue writing short fiction but to show that there is a strong readership for great short stories. I also want to help other writers by sharing tips and insight into the publishing world — information I wish I'd had when I was starting out.
If you're a fan of my stories or SF/F short stories in general, consider one of the many Patreon options for backing my work. If you're a writer interested in news and information on the SF/F publishing world, be sure to check out my "publishing isn't a magical fantasy land" Patreon option. For only $1 a month you'll learn news about where to submit your stories, places to beware of, and much more.
