About Jaye Hayes

ABOUT JAYE
I'm a restorative yoga & somatic movement teacher, dance/media artist, writer, researcher, embodied thinker & creative facilitator, living with ME/CFS. As a 'spoonie' (person living with a chronic illness), I have developed a unique somatic approach to teaching restorative yoga over the past 10 years. (Read more here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/from-bed-to-book-13...)

ABOUT THIS BOOK

My book will address the deficit of constructive rest in our lives & offer inspiration to reclaim space for it. I’ll be sharing the theory & practice of my signature ‘somatic’ approach to restorative yoga & outlining the key somatic skills that enable 'rest' to become 'restorative'.

WHY I AM WRITING THIS BOOK
Many people have asked me if I can recommend a book for them to use at home because they can’t get to my classes or workshops in Melbourne. While there are books on Restorative Yoga & books on Somatic Practices, there isn’t a book that offers a synthesis of both.

WHY THIS BOOK IS NEEDED
There is a culture shift afoot. Humans need quality rest to function well & thrive. But in the accelerated, mediated world we find ourselves immersed in, we’ve lost touch with the skills to access conscious deep rest & its restorative benefits. By sharing the insights of my teaching & its embodied philosophy, supported by the latest research, I hope to inspire more people to explore this culture-shifting, life-transforming practice!

WHY I NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Writing & self-publishing a book is a huge project! And living with ME/CFS means I have limited energy to generate funds for this project. So your patronage will enable me to engage a team of publishing professionals to assist me in getting this book written, edited, designed, produced, printed & launched!

Become a Patron & be part of bringing this work to the world in book form!

HOW IT WORKS
When you become a patron & pledge your support, you will receive regular updates about the goals & milestones I am currently working towards.

Patreon processes payments on the 1st of each month, however, I have elected to receive your pledged donations only when I achieve a project milestone. So you won’t be charged if unless I have worked on the book that month!

You can pledge as little as US$1 per milestone. Check out the patron reward tiers for details about the ways I will be sharing my success with you when I achieve a milestone. There’s even a special reward for ‘Super Supporters’ who support the project through to completion!

(Please note that Patreon displays amounts in US$ only)
