About Jeff Chappell

Once upon a time I was a reporter and journalist for many years. After that I taught English for awhile to folks who weren't native English speakers (mostly in Southeast Asia).

Now I just write on Wandering whilst Wondering (aka jeffchappell.com), just following my muse, as it were. Mostly I write fiction -- short stories and a novel in the works that's mostly finished -- as well as an ongoing series of short memoirs.

I've had a website at this address for some years, but a year or so ago I took it all down. What is coming next will be ready soon. June or July 2021 at the latest.

As for why I'm here, well I can't do it all for free, if I can state the obvious. I could waste a lot of blah blah blah on why I'm choosing to do it this way, but it really just comes down to this: ultimately, art should be free for everyone in the end, be it literature, music, painting, sculpture or what-have-you. However, artists, writers, sculptors and musicians, etc., deserve to make a living, too. We like to eat and squirrel a bit away for a rainy day, just like everyone else.

So here we are. ...
