Weekly Starbucks Trip
Thanks, Patreons! With your support, we've raised enough to cover coffee and gas to spend a day in my coffee house office once a week. I get my best writing done when I'm out of the house with bottomless coffee (I always get drip coffee for the free refills when I write). With dedicated writing time, I'll be regularly posting comic scripts - I'll also randomly select one Patreon each month to receive an exclusive print!
Comic Swag Raffle!!
This is a monumental goal mark. Once we hit this point, I will raffle off two swag bags of merchandise from my comic projects. These could include variant covers, t-shirts, stickers - the possibilities are endless. When we hit this mark, I'll be able to hire artists for concept art for my new projects.
Next Raffle Point!
Want to be drawn into a comic? I'll write one lucky Patreon into the comic project of their choice - once concept art of your character is done, I'll send you a print of yourself! Cool, right? -- Hitting this goal means I can hire an artist for paneling and not just concept art.
Focus on Comics
As a lot of you know, I write on commission to help make ends meet. This goal represents how much I make in commissions a month. If we meet this goal, I won't have to write for money. I'll definitely still take on paid comic gigs, but - honestly - I'm tired of writing smut. It wears on you. Making it to this goal means I can focus on comics. And that means a lot. To give back, one lucky patreon will have the opportunity to pitch me an idea for a short comic one-shot that I'll script and find an artist for.
About
Me? I'm Jenn. I've been a freelance writer for about seven years. Commissioned writing helped pay for my textbooks while I was in college. I graduated with degrees in English and in religious studies - I went right to work in the "real world," and started developing my first comic once I was free.

Hello, world. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet! This particular corner is dedicated to a writer. This writer, in fact. That'd be me. My name is Jenn, and this is my Patreon page - my vehicle for growing my personal brand: Arledge Comics.
When I started this Patreon page, the only comic I had to my name was Black Gold. It's a comic of my own creation - set in the 1800's, featuring a bad ass pirate crew. Our leading lady is Captain Jacqueline "Jaq" DeBeau. She was raised by her father - a French merchant - but eventually struck out on her own, leaving the trading life behind for piracy. Being a crew member of The Siren Queen certainly has its perks, but there's a price as well. When a high stakes loot job goes sour, Jaq is the one left paying the price. I'm proud to say - thanks to a financial investor - that Black Gold will be going to print December of 2015.

Since starting this page, I've joined a number of other comic projects. The biggest is a collaboration. JOG (Just an Ordinary Guy) is the brainchild of Isaiah Massey. It follows the story of John, who becomes a superhero through joining forces with Pilo - a rogue alien. There's action. Stuff happens. John saves the world. Then I come in. JOG 2.0 reveals that John's Pilo wasn't the only Pilo. The government is aware of aliens, so anyone caught with one is an immediate threat - superhero or no. But when Cjay's girlfriend goes missing, he has little choice but to team up with Pilo to save her. JOG 2.0 is in production now, and issue one should be available early next year.

And that's the rub of it, folks. When you support me on Patreon, you're not just backing me. You're backing the artists and colorists and letterers that I work with. Black Gold, for instance, is a global effort with artists in Indonesia, an editor in Canada and me in the good old US of A. The teams of the other two titles span the US. So you're never just supporting me. You're creating jobs and giving a break to deserving artists.
