About

Hi I'm Jennie. I grew up in a radio studio and didn't pay any attention. Now I'm learning all the lessons the hard way, many years too late. It's a good story, so I'm telling it piece by piece, right here. Thank you for reading this!

Judy Kyrala I haven't watched anything at TWIT since Sarah Lane left the evening news show. I listen to her now at the Crunch Report. I had forgotten how annoying Leo's ads and semi-jokes are as I caught some of Sunday's show. Totally prefer what Tom is doing with DTNS. If Leo wanted to retire, as he said, he should have left the enterprise in Tom's capable hands. As it is, Tom is building something better.

Rob O Watched this episode (and the one with Jason Calacanis) and I'm really glad you did this, Tom. Both you and Leo were gracious and professional and you got ton of PR and, frankly, Karma. I had stopped watching TWiT because it just didn't seem to "flow" anymore and had become annoying. The two episodes that just watched were more like the old TWiT and the old Leo (at least his old persona) , probably not a coincidence that he's trying to mend fences.

I was curious to see which in the race to 5,000 patreons or 16,000 per month would finish first. It was close and sometimes heated. But as always ... follow the money. :)

Why not support a show like this?

OK, I had a bit of trouble deciding where to post this. If I got it wrong and it would be better suited elsewhere please point me in that direction and give me a shove. I have a several months under my belt of supporting the show now and I thought it would be good to share with others considering it why they might want to as well. I discovered that although I can get about the same headlines from other shows whose names shall not be mentioned, I just prefer DTNS and have been able to ween myself off the other show as it really doesn't bring "more" to the table anymore. With DTNS I don't feel like the show is encouraged financially to report on anything in a specific way. It gives you a freedom to express whatever your views or those of a guest are without concern of sponsor reprisal. I also am a bit of a Homer for certain tech companies, you can probably guess which ones. What I sense from you and your show is "good" is good and "bad" is bad, if our favorites misstep lets point it out to them, but still praise them when they nail it as well. You do that well, keep that part up and even encourage others to expand on it. Finally I enjoy the expertise and sometimes off kilter views expressed by you and Patrick/Justin, there are no canned responses or talking head moments. Keep all that up, This is where I ask others who might accidentally get this far down in the post, why not support something like this. I think we all need to chip in to ensure there is never a bias introduced and allow this show to continue growing. On a different subject, one of possible ideas to augment the show further, you might consider harvesting some of your listeners as Industry niche reporters. Those who have been around for a while and might be willing to pop on occasionally to report on how something in the news has affected their niche of the industry. I'm in the AEC (Architectural Engineering Consulting) space and our IT needs continue to change as bandwidth, collaboration and tech change as well. The Sony debacle is just one example of how Tech news washes over industries and most likely leaves a differing impact on them in it's wake. Thanks again for a great show. NRHJohn
