Who Am I?
I'm Jeremy Puckett, a librarian and novelist from Lexington, KY. I also sometimes write role-playing games. I'm the author of several Cortex supplements, a few Savage Worlds settings and adventures, and some d20 stuff.

I was the first person to get a Cortex Plus license from Margaret Weis Productions, I have a continuing Savage Worlds third-party license from Pinnacle, and I regularly produce material for Cortex Plus and Cortex Prime under the Community Content License. I've also done a metric ton of unofficial works, converting some fan-favorite settings from the past to more modern systems.

Some folks suggested that people might be interested in supporting my work financially, so I'm putting myself out there and trying out this patron-driven thingamajob.

What is This For?
This Patreon is intended to support my RPG writing habit and to channel my creative impulses down useful paths. I work better when I have deadlines and people that I want to please, so patrons of this project can think of themselves as both my audience and my producers. Without your support, these games wouldn't get made--or at least not as quickly and as well. And without your interest and input, my focus wouldn't be nearly as clear.

Why Should You Care?
I hope you're already familiar with one of my works, since I've written a fair bit at this point. If not, take a look at the first couple of posts here to see some examples of my style to decide if you want to promote my career or not. Either way, thanks for reading this far!

What Happens After I Pledge?
Some of the things I will work on through this Patreon will go up for sale on DriveThruRPG as official Cortex or Savage Worlds content, while others will be exclusive to patrons. A few of them might go to Kickstarter to pay for swanky art.

In every case. patrons will have exclusive early access to this content, with their input and playtesting acting as invaluable resources. Anything that goes to DTRPG or Kickstarter will also go to patrons at no additional cost for a finalized version, since you've already paid for that content! Additionally, patrons will have the opportunity to vote on upcoming projects, directly determining what gets made and what doesn't.

I truly hope that we can make some great games together!

UPCOMING PROJECTS

Some of the things I've got in mind for the near future include:

Children of the Dark: A gritty, dark supernatural heroes game in the vein of late '90s horror/fantasy games. Children of the Dark focuses on an ancient race of shapechanging monsters thrust into the unlikely position of saviors of the world after Earth is invaded by eldritch nightmares who seek to consume humanity and plunge the planet into an unending night. This Cortex Prime setting is one part supers, one part horror, all mirrorshades and gothic style.

Heroes of Terra: A world of saurian savagery and floral sorcery for Savage Worlds. The rough cut of the Heroes of Terra Player's Guide has been up on DTRPG for a while now, and this material would expand the world in advance of the Heroes of Terra Kickstarter I've got planned. For those unfamiliar with my past work, Heroes of Terra is a pulp adventure setting inspired by early-80s video games. I sometimes describe it as "Conan the Barbarian, if the main character was an Italian plumber."

Caverns & Cultists: While I normally work with Savage Worlds or Cortex, this is an idea I had a while back for an "Old School" dungeon-crawler with a twist. Part Dark Souls, part Darkest Dungeon, a dash of cosmic horror, and a sprinkle of Gothic horror--add heat and watch it boil. Play tormented heroes in a world where the sun never rises, where the deep places of the earth hold the only hope for humanity's survival, and where the stars are very nearly right...

Infinite Reach: It's been a little more than two years since the first portal between dimensions was opened by Project: INFINITE REACH. Since then, humanity has discovered that the "parallels" can be stranger and more dangerous than they imagined. Some of these worlds have such radically divergent laws of physics that life--at least life as we know it--cannot survive there. Others are places that have what can only be described as "magic." You and your crew are the Vanguard, an elite and disparate group of specialists called in when first contact goes wrong or when intervention is called for. A dimension-hopping action-adventure game where the heroes are hyper-competent experts from many different realities.

The Western Baronies: A fantasy-western game about a decadent empire's last new frontier and the hard-bitten men and women who make it possible. In this world of swords and sorcery, a quick draw can be the difference between life and death. A low fantasy setting for Savage Worlds, strongly inspired by classic Westerns and "weird tales" authors of the early 20th century.

Starfall: Lost Dream Destiny: An anime-inspired setting for Cortex Prime. The islands of Starfall have been cut off from the outside world for over three hundred years, guided by angelic prophets and living in harmony with nature. When the beastmen of the Outer Isles declare war on the peaceful humans and elves of Starfall, heroes are needed! This high-fantasy setting calls to mind Final Fantasy, Record of Lodoss Wars, and similar media.

The Land of Odd: A young-adult fantasy world in the vein of Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, Robert Aspirin's Myth novels, and other similarly gonzo settings. The Land of Odd is a fantasy world where almost anything can happen--and does! Fight the dangerous time-traveling whenwolves, bathe in the splendiferous magic of the Chromosphere, and brave the fiery/icy wastes of the Antipodean Chasms. Do it for glory! Do it for fame! Do it for adventure!

PMD: Persons of Mass Destruction: When the front wave of the Millennium Event struck our solar system in the year 2000, it changed the laws of physics in ways that scientists are still struggling to explain almost two decades later. The most obvious effect has been that many children born since the Event have developed amazing superhuman powers--and shown an incredible lack of restraint in using them. The United Nations has dubbed such individuals Persons of Mass Destruction and created a multi-national task force designed to bring them to heel. Some members are veteran soldiers or scientists, while others are Quantums, young adults with impossible powers who have chosen to use them responsibly. A superhero setting for Cortex Prime inspired by works such as The Authority and Boku no Hero Academia.

The Blood-Dimmed Tide: The center did not hold, and everywhere the ceremony of innocence was drowned. The dead rose when hell was full--but things are far stranger than they appear, and the dead are just the leading edge of something much worse. A weird zombie apocalypse for Savage Worlds.

The Orrery: When the gods forged the world from the void, they did so without concerning themselves with little things like cohesion or consistency. The Orrery is a world made of dozens of small "pocket dimensions," each connected to the others by paths through a vast sea of shifting chaos. Through force of will, a mortal can bind himself to the fabric of his land, becoming its ruler in spirit and gaining immense powers. A fantasy setting for Cortex Prime, where heroes can gain powers from their lands in the vein of Birthright or Ravenloft.

Existing Work: I've written several settings, adventures, and fan conversions that are already up in various places. Some people have suggested putting together a central repository for these existing works. If enough patrons subscribe to support the hosting costs, I'll put together a website to centralize my existing works and even polish up some of the older ones that people want to see new versions of.

If any of these sound good to you, subscribe today! I'm also always open to suggestions. Let's make some games!

And thank you to anyone who chooses to contribute! I couldn't do this without your support!
