Resgate is an open-source Realtime API Gateway.

What does it do?
It lets you create micro-service based REST, real time, and RPC APIs, where all your clients are synchronized seamlessly.

It updates your clients within milliseconds, recovers from any crash or service restart, and it gives you full access control of your data. At the same time, it will help lower network traffic, server load, and code amount.

It even has full support for live queries, where dynamic results are kept updated in real time!

What is it for?
The idea was initially seeded while working at a leading company for customer interaction solutions. The company's cloud offering was in need of a better way to create APIs for web applications, that would match the call center market’s requirements for scalability, high availability, and real time client synchronization.

It is suitable for new REST APIs, especially where you otherwise might end up streaming events on a separate WebSocket or SSE connection.

It is suitable when creating single page applications, using reactive frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.

It is also a suitable alternative to Google Firebase’s real time database, if you prefer to control the data, and not having to put all of the logic on the client.

Who develops it?
The core server, Resgate, is developed and maintained by me, Samuel Jirénius. I also work with maintaining the RES specification, the website with guides and examples, and some of the surrounding libraries.

Why should I support it?
If you run a business where Resgate is part of your solution, it would make sense to sponsor Resgate development: it ensures that the software you depend on will continue to stay healthy and secure.

If you, as an individual user, are using Resgate in your personal projects, and believe in the solution, your support is very appreciated!

How do I support it?
By being a Patreon!
In case a recurring pledge is too scary, you can also support me with a one-time donation via PayPal.
