I love writing stories. And from what many of you have told me, you love reading them. Alas, love of stories does not put food on the table and my children in college, though it has given us a wonderfully rich life in so many other ways. I work full time at my day job and spend my evenings driving my kids to piano, softball, and Quidditch (yes, Quidditch), which leaves the wee hours of the morning for writing. And to be honest, it's exhausting to get up at 5 o'clock morning after morning, tip-toeing downstairs, making a vat of coffee and settling in for two hours of creativity before the whirl and blur of the real world envelops me for the next 14 hours.

In short, I need more time to write more stories for you. You'll notice I've already published six books and a novella in rather rapid succession ... but that was during another lifetime; another set of circumstances which allowed me to write almost full-time. Circumstances change. I've been working on this current novel for more than two years, stealing precious moments here and there to harness the muse and put words on the page.

So many of you have asked me, "When is the next book coming out?" At this current rate, it will be some time. But with your patronage, I can put more time into creating stories we both love, stories that enrich our internal lives and make us laugh, cry, and wonder. I hope you'll consider becoming a patron today.
