Joe Blank Art is creating Pencil Art

So my name's Joe and thanks for visiting my Patreon page. I don't even know what I hope to accomplish yet from having a Patreon - but that's not my job as the artist to decide. It's for you, the people who can see my work, judge it, and for some uncanny reason still support it.

Creating art with just a fancy mechanical pencil and an empty sheet of drawing paper, it's a pleasure. Capturing the emotion in a portrait, the subtle reflection of light in someone's eyes, I find it's a beautiful headache that I get to be a party to. But it's challenging. Especially when everything else is right now.

I'm not going to bore a bunch of internet strangers into my story, but I didn't really take my ability all that seriously until I found myself at death's door repetitively over the past few years. Health is a b*tch, and I found myself truly overwhelmed. What used to be a side business that might've paid for a carton of cigarettes a month is now what I rely on, and it's a blessing and a curse I have to survive off it. At least for now.

I started late in life, like I said, only after health problems got me ejected from the corporate bowels of the working in finance. I look back at my work, I see how my talent has grown exponentially since, and I want to be hopeful but one does wonder if I'll live to see it reach it's full potential or become more meaningful to a mass of people. I'd love to be able to, even in the tiniest increments, be able to explore different subjects and at least keep the materials I need to create in stock without it severely impacting my budget at the supermarket. That's a noble goal, right?

So please, enjoy my art if you do. That comes before anything. If you like my work, consider becoming a patron, reaching out to me with commissions, advice, suggestions on this or other platforms. I am grateful for the opportunity to create art whose impact could potentially outlast me, and leaving a part of myself with every piece I produce.

Priced parallel to a pack of the cheapest and most tolerable preroll cigarettes I can buy, this level is for those who don't have a lot of cheese to invest but still enjoy what I do and want to contribute something to help me get just a little further down the road. With this amount, I can pay for some of the fancy diamond-infused pencil leads I need, or a smaller drawing pad. Literally anything helps out.

With this tier of patrons, I will hold a drawing monthly and whoever I pick gets a random piece of signed original art. Could be a Tupac, could be a sketch of a panda riding a jet ski. I will make sure I switch it up. You also will be put on the mailing list and receive a 10% off code for items I post on Etsy.

So you're a little deeper in at this tier. And it gets slightly more fun, accordingly. This amount per month would again, help greatly with the cost of supplies and incidentals as I am trying to get to where I can sustain myself as an artist.

As such,  at this level I want to offer something more, so you'll get added to my monthly email list as with the lower tier, get a 15% coupon code for my Etsy, as well as be eligible to be picked monthly at random to receive an 8x10' portrait or cartoon of your choosing (as long as it's kept non-controversial and reasonable - no famous German chancellors).

Reptilian Overlords
$75 or more per month only 5 left

So obviously you don't care about money at this point, and I admire that about you. Supporting me as an artist at this level would be extremely gracious. Kind. Very cool of you.

What do you get? Same as the other two tiers with the monthly email update, 25% code for any of my Etsy purchases, as well get to request a custom 8x10' or smaller portrait or other piece of art for which you receive the original. I'll draw an image of your grandma, your dog, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, what have you - because this is somewhat approximate to a commission itself. As such, this tier has to be super limited but....since I am not expecting anyone to drop $75 a month on what I consider mediocre art 80 percent of the time, I probably won't have an opportunity to be overloaded. So only limited to 5 of you Koch brothers and gangster rappers who might be this generous.

Goals
$0 of $75 per month
My most basic goal as I try out Patreon is simple. Pay for paper, supplies, and maybe a few coffee beverages for a month. It'll take a load off my mind and certainly mean I am producing a lot more work. I'll be adding more goals later, such as purchasing digital tools/software so I can produce art that isn't limited to the physical piece, but right now I would just like a coffee and enough paper to draw on every day.
