Hi, my name is John and I want to share with you my general knowledge regarding music, theory, guitar, product review and whatever else may come up. These articles/videos will be on my website http://guitartheoryarticles.com.

I do perform locally and have played in small jazz duos, trios, quartets, and big band settings as well. Although, my primary interest is jazz music, I believe that what I have to offer will cut across almost all genres from pop, country, rock, heavy metal, and of course jazz.

One article per week is my goal. Each article may be part of a series or a "one off" topic that interests me at the moment. These articles are essentially like self contained lessons that you can use to learn the guitar. What are you going to learn? Well, I'm going to attempt to bridge the gap between theory and the guitar itself. I will help you explore that land scape of what music theory is, why its important, and how to apply it to the guitar. So let's say, for example, that you always wanted to learn how to solo or where chords come from. Have you ever asked yourself "What scale goes with what chord? ". Then this is the place for you. I will also go into detail about how to practice this material and some general advice as well. I'm also open to suggestions as to what you would want to see too.

By reading my articles every week expect to be drawn into the thick of things. I will cover everything from the guitarist's perspective. After reading, watching videos, and trying out the exercises you will understand more about what it takes to play the guitar. Expect some controversy as well. I might just say things that challenge the norm. Experiments will be conducted. The bottom line is we are going to learn and have fun at the same time.

I will continue to improve the quality of the content as I go. The material presentation will adhere to a bare minimal approach. This will keep things cheap and I'll be able to put things up quickly. As time goes by, we'll see if I can improve the presentation quality. But this is all dependent on reaching my financial goals. If you see mistakes let me know. I'm only human.

Big thanks to everyone here at www.patreon.com for making this possible. I hope you, the patron, will find some way to help me reach my goals to continue with keeping the articles free.

Thanks.

Be forewarned fellow guitar player:

When you decide to make this pledge you will have access to learning material that will help guide you to total fretboard awareness. This requires dedication and commitment. It is not for the meek.

Or if you just want to start learning the fretboard in the key of F. There is a reason for starting in this key.
