There is more and more media: an avalanche of new books, movies, music, and TV. But less and less real meaningful debate. Much of the vast new media is from the Big Tech companies, who speak with one politically correct voice – and that voice is of the political left

My name is John Groom, and I’ve been creating alternatives to the mainstream media for many years. I wrote the Big Tech Hard Left study to show that big tech is coming to dominate media, and the open exchange of ideas is in danger.

American media is huge, but dominated by a few voices in New York and San Francisco, all pushing hard for a politically liberal world dominated by identity politics of race and gender. Mainstream media and tech companies are focused only on one kind of consumer; young, liberal, atheist, tech savvy, urban, with a strong bias towards women and people of color.

There’s another audience that is being ignored; older people; people who believe in codes of right and wrong; people who live outside of urban areas; people who don’t think that paint thrown against a canvas is real art. Men who aren’t interested in the endless media diet of porn, news, and sports. Thoughtful people willing to think outside the mainstream. For this audience,

  • We created a related brand, Attitude Media, to provide back end support and systems for content we produce, and this brand will support content produced by others as well. You'll often see the Attitude Media logo at the bottom of our sites. When you support Groom Media, you also support Attitude Media.

  • I created the Positive Press website and Positive Quote of the Day to counter the media’s obsession with bad news.

  • I published Counting to God by Doug Ell to reconcile science and religion.

  • We publish social media sites with over 160,000 followers to provide cultural alternatives, such as Indo Art House, which shows that art can still be beautiful and meaningful.

  • I wrote Living Sanely in an Insane World to give an alternative point of view on many topics that everyone faces each day.

  • At Groommedia.com, we provide recommendations for the best music, movies, TV, news, and art produced by others. In a vast and growing sea of media, it takes some help to find what’s really worth your time.

    I received a patent last year for a media recommendations tool that’s an alternative to Google; you can try the Explore tool here.

  • We also have the Foundation for Sane Public Policy, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission of "Encouraging a wide range of discussion on different topics and providing alternatives to mainstream media." Donations are tax deductible.

  • We’d like to develop the Outrage.com into a tabloid style daily to aggressively promote our cultural and political agenda. Conservative and libertarians non-profits produce lots of scholarly books that no one reads; we want to produce well reasoned but popular journalism.

Your donation on Patreon will help us in many ways;

  • Develop our apps and tools to highlight and promote media with more traditional cultural values and market-oriented solutions to economic and political problems.

  • Build our social media following

  • Show Big Tech and Big Media there is a large and growing audience that values freedom of thought and a meaningful exchange of ideas, including ideas outside the mainstream.

Breaking through the reigning orthodoxy takes more than just great content and hard work; it takes money for promotion to cut through the noise and get the word out. Help us do that.

Your donation will help promote a wide array of media and content creators outside the left-wing mainstream and support a values-based alternative to Big Tech's media domination.

As a token of our gratitude for your tax-deductible donation, we will send a free copy of one or more of our great books, depending on the level of your donation.
