Hello and thank you for visiting me on this, my newest of adventures. I am an artist (or entertainer... pick your poison). I create spontaneously and I create passionately.

As an independent artist, my job is to create without any guarantee of ever being compensated for it, and that is the game I choose to play. With Patreon, the odds can be stacked more in the favor of the independent artist (as long as they are offering something worth your time).

By chipping in a couple bucks each time I create something, you can help ensure that my creative muscle will stay strong because I will know I have an audience waiting to support me. With that, you will challenge me to keep coming up with new goals, new ideas, and new creations.  And I never back down from a challenge...

Also, just about everything is free these days. With music streaming and YouTube, anyone can find anything they want and not pay an extra cent for it. And that is FINE. I enjoy streaming music just as much as they next guy.

But sometimes I want to be able to help out, throw a little "tip" to the artist for their work that has touched my heart or my mind. Thus, Patreon is that community where you can help by throwing me a tip when I release a project.

WHY AM I HERE?

This is an experiment for me. I saw the incredible support, excitement, and community that came out of throwing a successful crowdfunding campaign and I want to see what happens in the afterparty, if you will.

With the crowdfunding, I had a very set goal monetarily and creatively and a community formed to help me reach those goals. With Patreon, the bigger picture is to continue to enrich our community by asking for financial support, yes, but also to ask for creative feedback and integration. I want to be inspired by you and your ideas. And I want to share those projects back with you.

That's why I'm here. I'm going to keep creating (for free) and sharing (for free) and you'll probably be able to find most of the stuff I put up on Patreon in other places for free. But if there's anything I'm doing that has resonated with you so much so that you'd like to join in on a creative conversation and leave me a tip (and also get some cool exclusive content along the way), then that's why Patreon's here.

Music, Art, Videos, Podcasts, Behind-The-Scenes.... Not sure what will come of this but I promise it will be spontaneous and you will be in mind each time I create something new.

Much love -J

--Actual Questions and Actual Answers--

Q: So if we are pledging per creation is that money automatically deducted from our accounts or are they billed? Also, how often will the creations be produced?

A: Yes, I believe your pledge is automatically deducted when I post something new. However, so I don't abuse that, it is my job to be aware that I'm only putting up stuff that I think is super relevant and high-quality. I will also not be posting every week or maybe even every month, but rather once I have something that I think is worth sharing.

PLUS, I also believe you may set a personal limit for yourself. So if you want to pledge $10 per project, but don't want to spend over $100 in total, it will take all that into consideration and give you the first 10 projects but then respect your limit.

Awesome! On top of getting an email that I've created something new and the patron-only feed, you'll also get a direct download link of whatever it is so you can keep it forever (forever-ever?) Yup. So we're talking MP3, PDF, JPG, MP4, whatever format the creation comes in. And it's yours for the taking!

5 bucks? No way! Thanks! I want to thank you in the notes of everything I create and post, both on Patreon and my website or bandcamp or youtube or wherever the thing lives. I'll deliver the good news in a personal email, along with the download, and of course you'll have access to the patron-only feed.

WHOA! This is a huge support and I really appreciate it. To show how much it means, I'd like to invite you in a group Google Hangouts session, in which we'll periodically get together to talk about what I've been working on, what you've been working on, what is coming up, feedback on projects, new ideas, advice, tutorials, etc... Consider it a little focus group to talk about art and our lives. Plus: Personal email and thank you, download, and patron-only feed.

Let's get physical! Each time I create something, I will send you a physical memento associated with the project... maybe a CD of the song, a sheet of lyrics, a handdrawn design, a set of guitar strings I used... EXPECT RANDOM THINGS! All delivered to your doorstep PLUS a periodic Google Hangout, personal email and thank you, download, and patron-only feed.

All the moleys are holy! This is INCREDIBLY supportive and I want to repay you by offering a private video session whenever I release something new. Maybe it will be a personal concert, a conversation about what was released, general one-on-one shooting the breeze, whatever you feel (and whatever I have to offer). But wait... THERE'S MORE! You'll also get the physical memento, periodic Google Hangout, personal email and thank you, download, and patron-only feed.

Just stop. Not really. But c'mon. This is crazy. You'll get it all. I'll make custom projects just for you. I'll give you my cell phone number. We'll have lunch when I'm in town. Really. I have to go lie down...
Goals
$162 of $250 per creation
If we can hit $250/creation, I'll be able to perform a much-wanted studio upgrade to my interface, microphone, and software because hey... the easier it is for me to sit down and get a great product every time, the more inspired I'll be. It's a win-win, yo.
