We teach music. We write music. We play music.

Hello and welcome! We are June and Man -- Lisa Forkish on vocals and Patrick Anseth on guitar. We are both Oakland-based musicians and educators with a passion for story-telling and harmony-making. We have been playing music together since September 2006 when Patrick accompanied Lisa for her first audition while studying at Berklee College of Music. We graduated together in May 2010, moved to the Bay Area, got married and adopted two cats. Currently, both of us are full-time educators at Oakland School for the Arts; Patrick teaches in the Instrumental Music department and Lisa teaches in the Vocal Music department. Teaching is incredibly rewarding, and we are also working on taking more risks as artists, sharing more of our music with others, performing more often and engaging with our community on a deeper level. 

One of the ways we plan to do this is by releasing new songs and connecting with more folks through this nifty platform.

How it works:

• You pledge whatever amount you feel comfortable giving per song/video (you get to decide that amount!) 
• You can set a monthly maximum so you are never put in a position of giving more than you're able
• You can opt out at any point
• In exchange for your patronage, or "tips" for each video I do, you get something in return, just like when you pledge to someone's Kickstarter campaign.
