Welcome, potential patrons of Justice Points.
Justice Points is a podcast run by us - Apple Cider and Tzufit. We're two bloggers from the gaming community that decided to start doing podcast content. We run a weekly show that focuses on looking at the world of video games from a feminist/social justice angle and critically analyzing it. We're one of a cool handful of podcasts looking at gaming from a feminist critical lens, run entirely by women.
What we're looking to do with Patreon is maintaining the same level of content we've been doing so far - 4 episodes a month, once per week - as well as supporting even more in-depth research and content in the future. So far we've tackled such topics as racism, mental illness and sexuality in gaming as well as looking at many elements of the community at large. Our episodes usually have a decent amount of time and research that go into them as well as discussion. What we also provide to our listeners is full transcriptions so that people who are unable to listen to or download our episodes still have access to the topic in our own words.
Because our angle is so important, we haven't been able to support ourselves so far with advertising or sponsorship since we want the content to remain just as critical and under our full control. It would be amazing if we could help pay for hosting, technical upgrades to our recording and support ourselves for our time invested in creating the episodes. It would be great if the people who love our work so much had a hand in keeping it going as well as seeing it being improved in the future.
This is where you guys come in - what Patreon does is allow you to chip in a set amount every month (as we've determined, versus something per-episode) to goes directly to us. This not only means that you consistently get access to perks we're working on for our patrons but that you help us continue what we've been doing so far and where we hope to go into the future.
