I'm Kait Moon! artist, painter, poet, writer, blogger (sometimes) DJ and social justice activist. I earned a degree in Photojournalism in 2005 from the Evergreen State College and had my first child in 2006. I spent most of the 00's taking photos throughout the Pacific Northwest, Europe and the American Midwest while writing and caring for my growing family. I now parent four amazing kids and have written several books. My first book "The Lunasea scout guide for breastfeeding families" was self- published in 2014 through my backers on indiegogo. It is the first fully inclusive breastfeeding guidebook for families of all kinds with special resources for POC, Trans and post operative breastfeeding parents. It's tiny but powerful and has nearly sold out.
The last two years have been primarily spent promoting my book and producing a large body of original art, showing my work in galleries, and producing product featuring my work for sale online. Two projects have already been funded by my Patreon Patrons, Including my website http://www.kaitmoonarts.com and my recently funded "Bigger on the inside" Tardis print which will be released into the wild October 2015.
I've been battling some severe medical issues for the last few years and have been in hospital twice since Oct 2014. My art and writing have been a sustaining force in my health journey and have been a major influence in my work.
My goals for the rest of 2015 are to release the three remaining pieces in my Doctor Who fan art series and release limited edition pieces featuring my "Elements" series.
In 2016 I will release my updated version of "Lunasea Scoutguide for breastfeeding families" with an ISBN and release it to stores in the USA so it can reach more families.
I also am working to release a book of my photography which spans over 15 years of the West Coast Goth/Industrial scene as well as event photography from around the world.
