I have taken the BIG Patreon Creator Pledge. Every dollar I receive over US$1111* per month, I will pledge toward building a Basic Income Guarantee for other creators on Patreon.

Hello and welcome to my Patreon page. I am based in Melbourne, Australia, and make art and performance. I constantly drift between art forms, and enjoy not landing in one. I make theatre, drawings, Lino prints, paintings, poetry and music, and installations, among other things.

Like most artists, I struggle with having to keep a day job to make ends meet, and in that struggle, frequently end up too tired and overcommitted to create any art.

In my worse moments, I lose my way in the forest of bureaucratic arts funding demands, stresses of how to pay for life, mental health issues, Centrelink, and the real sense of disillusionment that my art is not really making the world better. In my best moments, I manage to enjoy a day or two each month down in my studio, pottering and creating, but not really being able to spend the time immersed in the creative process to take my art to the next level.

I meet many artists who experience life exactly like this. Yet we are driven, somehow, to keep creating.

Thanks to a fellow creative spirit, Killy Dwyer https://www.patreon.com/killythekid who followed me out of the blue on Twitter, I discovered Patreon, and feel a renewed hope for the future of artwork and artistic life, for myself and artists everywhere!

Crowdfunding may just be the way to help the world value its artists and keep creativity and imagination alive and well.

Are you also disillusioned with the state of the Arts, and the direction that arts funding is headed in in? Are you in a position to consider becoming my Patreon, thereby funding the arts in a more direct way?

Every day an artist's day job is art is a day that the Arts get stronger...

This is the most important pledge of all. For a basic income to be stable, it is better to have a thousand $1 pledges a month than one $1000 pledge.

I am placing my focus on building $1 pledges, but if you feel you would like to give more, you can elect any amount after you hit the 'become a patron' button.

Remember, you can cancel your pledge at any time, and at $1 per month, you rock, because you are contributing to an unconditional, more compassionate economic model.

I have taken "The BIG Patreon Creator Pledge"
Once I reach US$1111, any pledges over this will be paid forward to other creators.
Goals
$9 of $1,111 per month
Every dollar I receive over US$1111* per month, I will pledge toward building a Basic Income Guarantee for other creators on Patreon.

How does this work? Once I reach US$1111 of income on Patreon, everything else will be pledged to other creators who have pledged to do the same thing. This way, we can crowdfund our way towards building a new mini economy that will provide an unconditional basic income to all who wish it.

In other words, I have taken "The BIG Patreon Creator Pledge"
