I'm a mother and a martial artist, a copywriter, a reader, an editor. I've been an entrepreneur and a waitress and an activist. I've been a student and I've been a teacher. But before I was any of those things, I was a writer. "Writer," to me, is more than just a title - it's a commitment to living the kind of life it feels like I'm supposed to live.

I'm a freelancer with two children and I can't quit my day job (yet!) in order to pursue my dream of finishing my novel and realizing the full potential of Palmetto Blog Durham. But earning money by sharing my work on Patreon will allow me to work towards my dream of writing full-time.

Being a patron means that you get to read Palmetto Blog before anyone else does, and you can also get my fiction - and my thoughts on writing fiction - delivered to your inbox each month ( + some other cool things you'll see when you check out the rewards!).

Thank you for reading the words.

Thank you for being a patron.

Village Laners
$5 or more per month 7 patrons
Village Laners get monthly installations of "Trust the Scissors," a newsletter about the beautiful but unwieldy process of writing fiction. You don't have to be a writer yourself to enjoy these letters - I promise!
Lakewooders
$15 or more per month 2 patrons
Lakewooders get access to everything above PLUS access to a digital copy of one of my unpublished short stories, delivered straight to your inbox.
East Enders
$50 or more per month 0 patrons
East Enders get access to everything above PLUS a curated list - sent as a printable PDF - of my favorite fiction titles + why I love those titles so much. This list will keep you out of the "What should I read next?" scenario for months.
Starlites
$100 or more per month 0 patrons
Starlites get access to everything above PLUS an actual, postcard sized tiny fiction, sent via snail mail and signed by yours truly (it can go to you or you can send it to a friend who loves fiction, too).
