Adding another HD camera equipment to record at dojo
When I reach $700, I can start improving recording environment at the dojo. Currently I am recording training at a dojo with one camera. With one camera, we only have scene from one angle. But adding another one, I can get more angle so you guys can enjoy techniques with two angels or the better angle!
Increase productivity
When I reach $1500, I can start improving my office equipment for more productivity. Since my laptop computer got broken, I have not been as productive as I used to. I basically cannot work when I am not home. I would like to have one good laptop so I can still create quality videos for you wherever I go.
Rent a place to record kendo movements
When I reach $2000, I can rent a place close to my house so you will get more kendo movements videos more often. To make a video of kendo movements, the ceiling must be high to swing a sword. It requires a spacious room. But I do not have such place close to my house.
A dojo where I instruct is one hour away. I do not own that dojo and they have other classes than kendo. And also I must ask permission to use it. Basically, If I can rent such a place with high ceiling close to my house, I can make a kendo instructional video immediately.

Total dedication of my life to sharing kendo knowledge with you
When I reach $3000, I can start dedicating my life to sharing my kendo knowledge with you. I will be able to gain at least 20 more hours a week to spend creating kendo quality material such as videos and articles. This material takes time and a lot of dedicated work. In order to create this content I need the time to edit videos, record longer podcasts, and to read Japanese articles and translate them into English for you. More of this material will appear if I meet this goal.
Trip and Interview Senseis and Help sensei-less dojos
When I reach $5000, I can start traveling to places to interview senseis and to help dojos without senseis. This makes it possible to visit patrons as well. This is one of my dreams and projects. I live in Indiana and must travel to places where senseis with 7-dan and above. It takes time and cost a lot. But with this amount, I could go and interview senseis. Besides, I can learn more from them. That means I can share more with you!
Trip and Interview Outside USA
When I reach $8000, I can start putting a crew together and go to Japan to meet and interview senseis, kendo equipment craftsman and visiting kendo dojos, clubs and the police force.
Airfare to Japan from Indiana would cost around 2,000. Of course, it goes up and down through out the year. Hotel for 10 days would be 1,000. And food probably around 400 -500 for 10 days. The minimum would be $3400 - 3500.
With this fund, I believe I can go to Japan and share what I learn with you. Of course, when I am allowed to take videos, I will share the videos with you.

Kendo carries history and culture. Without learning them, you are not learning “complete” kendo. Or I should say you are just learning “exercise”. So I do not want you to do it unless that is the only thing you want to get out of kendo.
That is why I am making free courses for everyone.
I used to teach Japanese at university about 4-5 years so I would like to share my knowledge on that. Through my experience, I can show you how you should learn Japanese to have a conversation.
There are many more things I am planning to share with you but it costs a lot for me to do so. Like…
At this point, I am not asking you to believe what I am planning to do but I am asking you to believe in what I can do for you and for the future generation. And of course, I want you to believe in kendo and what it can do for you and me and the future generation.
If you are ready to help me, I am always ready to do more for you!!
- The teachings from such traditional kendo senseis as the late Tsurumaru sensei, 9-dan; the late Murayama sensei (8-dan, a winner of 8-dan championships); Masayoshi Miyazaki sensei, 7-dan and more
- To prevent people from getting any false information or misled by a lot of information on the Internet.
- There are many people who still misunderstand kendo
- There are many videos and a lot of information that will mislead those who want to learn kendo and who just started kendo
- Many are not fortunate enough to have high grade holders

Making Kendo Courses to Connect and Educate More People
The videos are great. You can see what’s going on as said “A picture is worth a thousand words”. However, you need more. You need more detailed explanations because kendo is not just a series of “movements”.Kendo carries history and culture. Without learning them, you are not learning “complete” kendo. Or I should say you are just learning “exercise”. So I do not want you to do it unless that is the only thing you want to get out of kendo.

Giving a lesson of Japanese for Kendo
Kendo is one of Japanese cultures and it has a lot of Japanese. You will have to learn Japanese soon or later when you do kendo. So I also teach you Japanese free.I used to teach Japanese at university about 4-5 years so I would like to share my knowledge on that. Through my experience, I can show you how you should learn Japanese to have a conversation.
Interpreting great senseis writings
I have many books written by great senseis in the past. It is so great to learn these things but unfortunately these books are in Japanese. I would like to share what I learn from these books with you. There are many more things I am planning to share with you but it costs a lot for me to do so. Like…
- interviewing senseis who know traditional Japanese kendo,
- going to a kendo equipment shop to film how handmade bogu made and interview them,
- going around to instruct kendo where there is no access to kendo
- learning traditional classical kenjutsu
At this point, I am not asking you to believe what I am planning to do but I am asking you to believe in what I can do for you and for the future generation. And of course, I want you to believe in kendo and what it can do for you and me and the future generation.

It took more than 1.5 hours to render (turn edited video to one single video file) a 21 min 33 seconds video. This does not include my editing time. Just to render a video after editing it.
