About

Hi, my name is Kenney and for the past 10 years I've been designing and developing games. Recently, I've started doing more and more open source projects and helping out other game developers get a head start in development.

Over the last couple of months I've released hundreds of free to use game assets weekly, now over 15,000 assets have been released, your support means even more can get created! These game assets are completely free to use (even commercially) and are often used in game jams and in education.

Why support?

Your support means that I can keep creating new game assets and that way support schools and indie developers all over the world by providing free to use game components. While currently donations are accepted they don't cover all the costs involved in funding all the projects. Even by pledging a couple of dollars a month will allow me to move forward and keep providing everything for free.

What will I support?

Next to the game assets I've also got a few other projects you'll be supporting the development and execution of, all of these projects are game related.

Kenney Land (currently in development)
venue where local game developers can meet-up, work, create, play and learn. Workshops will be held there that use my game assets, as well as other game related events like movie nights showing game documentaries, and even gaming tournaments. Pretty much everything that will get people interested in game development.

Voxus (currently in development)
Voxus will be an open source voxel building game that is suitable for use in education. The game will be available for free and modding is done using the easy to learn LUA language. Gameplay will be similar to other survival games in the genre, but it will introduce new mechanics. The game is currently in development and you can participate in development here.

Livestreams
I often organize live streams where I'll be creating art that viewers request. The shows get recorded and you're able to watch them all on YouTube for free. They're ad free and run times range from 1 hour to 4 hours (!).

Game assets
Game assets often take hours upon hours to create and to satisfy all users there need to be many, covering all genres of gaming. I've already released 15,000 assets but there's still many more to do, and more recently I've also started releasing 3D objects and audio files. I'm also listening to the community and improving the ease of use, like releasing the assets in the Unity Asset Store (for free) and Unreal Engine marketplace (also free!).

Kenney Studio (currently in early access)
With Kenney Studio game developers can easily create asset variations by using templates. There's no need for artistic skills, you simply flip the switches and push the knobs to create your own game assets. The options offered are tailored to the template, each template is unique and new templates are constantly added.

Steamcoal (currently in development)
More often than not small indie developers use a sub-par logo design. The company's logo is pretty much the first thing customers will see and it often leaves a bad impression. I'd like to help those developers and for the small price of just 20 bucks they can get a professionally made logo. The system (for ordering) is currently in development and will be launched somewhere in June 2015.

Other projects
Next to the projects above I also participate in game jams, create fun little projects and always try to help other game developers all over the world.
