What is Kid in the Kitchen?
Kid in the Kitchen is my cooking show.  We filmed almost a dozen episodes last year, won two cooking contests, learned some new skills and I had a blast! I write all the episodes, pick the menu and do all the cooking in each episode.  My dad runs the cameras and does the final edits. With my approval. This year, we want to make more videos and we could use your help.

Where is the Money going?
The money goes into food, production, charity, and a culinary school tuition fund.
Culinary School Tuition Fund: I want to go to Culinary School when I am old enough. These videos are how I intend help pay for it. Lemonade Stand money only goes so far. Plus my dad tells me I should get a Business Degree first. That is a lot of books and knives to buy.
Production: My dad has some equipment, but some pieces we need to borrow for each episode. Some funds for a new lens and additional light would improve the look of the show.
Food for the videos:  We try not to waste. Much of the time, but not always, we do try to eat the food I cook for dinner. But sometimes a new recipe doesn't work out.  Funds from Patreon will help me be able to experiment with more creative recipes.
Giving: I never forgot one of the key lessons of Kindergarten: Sharing. We already give time and money to charities, but when we hit specific goals on Patreon, we will share some of that as well.
Taxes and Fees: according to my dad, about 20-30% of all money raised will go into covering transaction fees and taxes. Patreon, Paypal, Vimeo, IRS all take a "piece of the action" as my dad says.

Who are you?

I am a kid who loves to cook and wants to share that enthusiasm with young and old alike.  Cooking is fun, fast, healthy and easy if you pick the right recipes.

Why Patreon?
Patreon is like a tip jar. If you like what I am doing, you can drop in a buck or two (or more). The fact that Patreon allows you to create a subscription if you will, makes you a Supporter of the Arts.
Even users with hundreds of thousands of YouTube subscribers do not make enough money from YouTube to focus on their videos. Patreon allows more of the money (90%) to go directly to the artists.  Here is another video that explains the concept behind Patreon.

Why Not Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is great at raising money for a one time event, but Patreon was designed for serialized, or subscription based content, like weekly videos, stories or songs.

Do I have to pay in US Dollars?
No. Pay in any currency using Paypal or your credit card. As this is a US based website, everything is written in Dollars, but you can use any currency and it will be automatically converted. International subscribers would be an added bonus and a great way to learn about other cultures.

How many cooking videos will you release per month?

Around one to two (until we hit our funding goal, then I will release 1 new video every week.) Don't worry though, as you can set a monthly maximum when you sign up so that you never donate more that you can afford.

I don't have much money, can I still become a Patron?

Yes, please only sign up to donate what you can easily afford. Even $1 per  video I upload will make a huge difference and would be greatly appreciated.

Can I stop donating in the future if I can't afford it?
Yes, of course! If you can't afford to donate in the future, or you if need to donate less that's absolutely fine. You can just log in to change or cancel the account whenever you want. Patreon is about making sure that people stay within their financial means.

I could use a new set of pots and pans to cook with. Once we hit this goal, we will buy a new set.
