About Kit

Millennial. Gemini. Terse.

If you've known me for a while, you know that I am both blunt and to the point, to a fault. I've also been known to be a novelist, writing essays on social medias, about pieces of art I'm involved with and how it relates directly to the world in which we live. Knowing this, this space will flex and change as I do.

I stopped writing a few years ago, getting burnt out from expressing myself with the written word. I turned my attentions to what I could control: myself, how I expressed myself, both in words and in actions, and how I consumed media. During that time, I read countless others' opinions on anxiety, trauma, depression, autism, race, how all these things affected them, how small things added up. And I tried not to do the small things. I looked at how my internalized biases were affecting how I interacted with the world, and I've worked to change them. I worked to point out my friend's biases, or to change friends, to find new ones that held similar beliefs as my own. I went out of my way to read articles about things I'd never thought of before. This has done wonders for my social circles, weeding out the bad apples, and encouraging lots of new growth.

Now, I'm going to start writing again. While I'm not entirely certain how this space will end up looking, I do have some plans on what I'm going to be doing right now.
I'm putting all of my notes from any DEI/Racial Equity classes, especially the free ones. (I'll be adding links to those who made them, and better paid ones.)
Included: Notes & Class Work from the University of Akron's Racial Equality & The Law course, (September through mid November 2020).  This is because I feel this information should be shared, to as many people as want it.
As I get my hands on them, I'll be relating and responding to other books, documentaries, and articles, and those who made them.

You might be asking yourself, /This sounds lovely, and all, but... why put it behind a paywall, if you want to share it?/
Well first of all, I have bills.

Second, I want to make sure that the people who read these posts are people who actively want to. I used to post rant on social medias, and that was great for the time, but it became less and less useful. So, since I'm probably going to show my ass, I'd rather do it to a few people who want to see it, than a couple hundred who don't. And I need people to hold me accountable with all of this. Knowing that someone wants to read this, helps.

P.S.S. Ask me sometime how much I hated writing this.
