About Karel Matejka

My name is Karel Matejka aka KO.DLL. I made my first 8-bit game when I was 12 years old. After more than 30 years spent in the game industry and working for big developer houses, one day I said to myself: “It’s time to construct a time machine and return back to the 80`s!”

Maybe it is my pixel art obsession, maybe it is the magic of old games boosting players’ imagination or I am just feeling comfortable in the past. Nevertheless, I have decided to try making games the old way again; I wanted to see if that miraculous 80`s magic can still work. And as there are no time machine blueprints lying around on the internet, the only way to achieve this goal was to jump back onto the indie roller coaster.

And that's why I created this PATREON page. I need YOU, passionate retro players, to support me in my tiny game development. So far I have launched a demo version of BZZZT game on Steam so you can see the results of my work there. My plan is to finish the game this year and release it on PC, Switch and XBOX.

I am doing all the code, art and design by myself but I would love to support this game with cool music as well. Plus I would like to make this game more visible for players and because I don't have any investor or some big publisher behind me who can support me financially I am asking you, dear retro players!
