I'm Jakub Wasilewski and I love making games. I love everything about it - the initial flash of inspiration, the craft involved in getting it to work, the back-and-forth of ideas during playtesting, the understanding that comes from it, the feeling of creating a living, breathing world out of tiny pixels.

There is nothing I'd rather do - which is why I spend most of my waking hours making small but deep games like Compact Conflict, The Lair and Dank Tomb:

When I'm not making games, I'm working on neat demos pushing the PICO-8 fantasy console to its limits:

As it turns out, some people want to know how all these things are made - so I also write articles on programming and game-design explaining all the ins and outs of what I'm doing and why.

If you're checking this page out, chances are that you're a person who enjoys the things I make - which is great, because I want to do even more of them! There is no greater pleasure in the world than seeing somebody enjoy a thing you created, and I'd like to feel that as often as possible.

For me, Patreon means having the opportunity to spend even more time doing what I love the most. It also means I don't have to obsess about the commercial viability of every project before I even write the first line of code.

For you, it's early access to all my stuff and a way to have influence on it. Which prototype should I polish into my next game? What direction should I take with the next demo? What should the topic be for the next article? All questions I hope we can answer together!

Thank you for coming to this page, reading this post, and for considering being my patron! This whole Patreon thing is pretty new for me, so if you have any question or suggestions, I'm always eager to hear from you (whether you're a patron or not!) on Twitter or via e-mail.

Goals

Once we reach this goal, I'll be able to guarantee doing either one article or one PICO-8/game development livestream every month - the topic and medium will be up to you!
