My name is Kyle Starks and I'm most notably known for Image Comics Sexcastle and beloved wrestling graphic novel The Legend of Ricky Thunder. I am the current writer and occasional artist on ONI Press's comic version of the beloved and incredible Adult Swim cartoon Rick and Morty. My work has appeared multiple times in Marvel's Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.   I even wrote the only dedicated D-Man story in Marvel history!

I make a bunch of comics, guys.

I love making comics so much.

So here's the thing:  After losing the day job that has supported my wife and two beautiful daughters for the last ten years I've decided if there was ever a time to go pro, the time is now.

But I'm can't do it alone.  Comics are tough, hard, grueling work and the payoff for most involved is pretty minimal.  Notably, there's no insurance, there's no retirement plan and we all have mortgages to pay.

I have three books I want to do and I feel like now's the time, the window is open and I have the slimmest chance of sliding my way into this bonkers career.

So here's what I'm offering.  An insight into an freelance comic makers process.  I'll share pages, process pages, character design, occasional Google Hangouts for my $5 and up supporters, Q and A's about the industry and the process of trying to make it in the industry.  I'm pulling back the curtain.

Support me if you wanted to see someone try, or if you want to be a participant in someone making a crazy dream come true.

You get my endless gratitude and the gratitude of my family and the intense warmth of supporting the arts. You're basically a modern Medici.  But to comics.  So.  Sort of like that.

You get my endless gratitude and also all that other stuff I jabbered on about up there.  I'll pull back the curtain on life as an independent comic creator so you'll see my super secret backer's blog with my process, my process pages, sketches, and you get line jumping rights for my random theme draw-draws or TMI-Tuesdays on Tumblr.  You get the stuff, man.  You get a bunch of the stuff.

Same as $2 but I'm also going to hook you up with a digital copy of any of my minis - and I'm going to hook you up with any future minis or sketchbooks I do, too…FOR FREE.  WHAAAAAAAAT?  At some point I'll start doing Google Hangouts which will be a live draw showcase and chance to do a Q&A.  And that'll be with you, friend.  Because $5 a month? That's friendship, bro.

You get all the junk the other tiers have but also once a month I will draw a name and send that dude a free draw-draw of their choosing.  Yeah, boy.  Draw draws.
