"Linguam non ex infinitis grammaticorum praeceptis, sed ex veterum librorum lectione et imitatione comparandam esse.

A language is not acquired from an infinity of grammatical rules, but from reading the books of the ancients, and through imitation."
    - Jacob Flacciolatus , anno 1715

There is also an audio-visual component to help beginners.

The Latinum Institute has subscribers at all learning levels - complete beginners, those wanting to brush up on old Latin, and advanced students at university level. Several Latin teachers also subscribe to The Latinum Institute, and use the materials for professional development.

New additions to Latinum, and works in progress. (Note: recent uploads may not be catalogued until completed.)

Almost all the textbooks used by The Latinum Institute are available for free on Archive.org, Books.google.com, Europeana.eu or Openlibrary.org. There is no need for you to buy textbooks if you use this course. Links to pdf textbooks are provided.
