About Laughing With The Raindrops

My name is Virginie Lacour-Puiboube and I am a songwriter, band leader, composer and as a supporter of independent musicians of all genres, I am also a radio host. Here are a few highlights of what I do:
Everything about my band LAUGHING WITH THE RAINDROPS can be found here:
https://laughingwiththeraindrops.com/

Apart from my main music project, using my guitars and a simple home set-up of Steinberg Cubase Pro I write, arrange and record music for myself and others. I also make videos. I have two children and my fingers in many pies, currently helping my daughter make a film, I am also studying for a master's degree in popular music performance at The London College of Music where I also host a weekly radio show ECLECTIC on Blast Radio on which I interview independent artists and broadcast their music:

Some of my past radio shows can be streamed here:

As part of my research for my MMus, I am planning to record an EP with my Supergroup LAUGHING WITH THE RAINDROPS and I want to take the band on tour. As it is difficult if not impossible to get booked with a large ensemble of the kind, I am planning to be my own promoter and put on shows myself. In order to do so I will need extra funding to pay musicians and hire venues so this is where Patreon could be a life-changing experience. I would only need  500 supporters to contribute $2 per month to get this band on the road!
A few highlights about this band of mine:

About LAUGHING WITH THE RAINDROPS, New York journalist Lakisha Skinner wrote  in KLEFNOTES:
Laughing With the Raindrops is a London-based Jazz band whose self-entitled CD was recently 'Featured Album of the Month' on Steve Luff Show on Black Cat 107 FM. Eclectically and surgically, they have created a spectacular collection of music that has global appeal. Let me introduce you to these power players:
Alexander Keen on bass and double bass
Gabriel Keen on piano, keys, Fender Rhodes, and alto sax
Jon Desbruslais on the drums and percussions
Derek Nash is the sound engineer and also plays the sax
Chantelle Addow-Hamlin, Makeda Carbon, Ennisel and Jane Parker backing vocalists
Neil McBennett and David Underwood - guest guitarists
Theo Travis on tenor saxophone and flute
Paul Higgs on trumpet and flugelhorn
Paul Taylor on trombone

About the album LAUGHING WITH THE RAINDROPS: "This CD is full of Jazz deliciousness that any serious Jazz fan will love. It holds true to the classical elements of Jazz – the modulating keys, complex rhythms, multifaceted vocals, and melodic lines, but it also incorporates the NOW of music with catchy riffs, organic melodies, eclectic beats, and well-structured harmonies"  Lakisha Skinner

Piers Ford in THE ART OF THE TORCH SINGER about "Freewheeling" : "[...] A song about the conflict between the intensity of love and an overwhelming need for freedom that epitomises the Laughing With The Raindrops sound".

Paul Wolfe in MUSIC INTERVIEW MAGAZINE: " [...] Released as a single, “That Angolan Guy” continues to receive radio air play in the UK. A catchy refrain, vibrant chorus and an upbeat tempo help make this number a winner. Meanwhile, the title track is expertly polished and buffed with a songwriter’s poetic sincerity. Of course, we could keep talking about the terrific musicianship, brilliant arrangements and outstanding production of each song. Then there is Lacour-Puiboube’s wonderfully cool but soulful voice. But you will have to listen for yourself. With cover and inner art work, including liner notes, the CD features an attractive photo collage and lyrics. All songs were composed and arranged by Virginie Lacour-Puiboube; “Terra Incognita” arranged by Alexander Keen."

I will put up an introductory video soon and expand on my future Patreon campaign.
