About FPGA PSX Project

My goal with this project is to recreate the Playstation 1 entirely in FPGA.
 
It is subdivided into the following goals :
- Recreate the MDEC. (Video decompression part)
- Recreate the GPU. (Rendering of graphic primitives)
- Recreate the SPU. (Audio)
- Recreate the GTE. (Computation accelerator for 3D)
- Recreate the CD Rom controller.
- Recreate all the DMA, IRQ management, etc... basically the logic can connect and manage the chips.

My end goal is to have the system working on MiSTer FPGA platform.

I wish to share with you my progresses and have feedback from the community.

For fairness, at my sole discretion, some of the money will be spent on material or giving some financial reward for other people that have/may/had helped me with the project.

*** IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER ***
1/ The goal here is to recreate as much part as possible from the original PSX in FPGA.
2/ Perfect accuracy will be likely impossible for a long time due to the complexity of those chip
and the lack of full internal information (the blue print of the chips).
3/ What the patrons are sponsoring is the development effort, please do not expect a fully working
PSX in FPGA for sometime.
And because of the long dev time required, I can not guarantee that I can deliver on a platter the full console. Life may decide differently things for me (accident, family, work condition changing).
4/ I have of course the same goal in mind as everybody else, and try to give my best to reach a state where games can boot and run smoothly.
It is just that I can not guarantee it. I have invested already 700+ hours on it, and not ready to stop yet !
