"This is precisely the time when artists go to work," writes Toni Morrison.  "There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal."

Agreed! I am hungry to keep answering into my artist's inner call!

2018 joyfully started with the birth of Leah K Walsh Coaching. As I've dived into my coaching practice supporting women to live and lead from the power of their own story, I've again and again been reminded of the power of community, spirituality, imaginative storytelling, and creative-artistic expression to keep us moving through (rather than stuck and caught in) these incredible and furiously challenging times.

As I grow into my own leadership, I hear the clear call to step out with my art as my warrior's shield. For me, my first art has been writing.

I want to engage this art as a primary practice in tandem with my coaching in this coming year (Oct 2018-Oct 2019) and I'd love your support!

I've chosen Patreon as a simple platform to collect your patronage. Check out this short [2 min] video on  "What is Patreon?" to learn more about this platform.

Projects:
  • Letterpress/Print Art focused on feminine leadership
  • Online/blog content (my website, other online spaces)
  • Poetry compilation of personal work
  • A book (feels intimidating to write, but know it is possible inevitable!)

Costs:
  • My time not working on other income generating activities
  • Monthly studio membership for letterpress/print work ($25/month)
  • Cost of paper, polymer plates, and supplies for printing
  • Small subscription fees to favorite journals, online author spaces
  • Support for writing classes & mentorship

Important Notes:
Many Patreon artists and creators offer exclusive content to their patrons. While this may be feasible for me at some point, right now the honest truth is that creating content for Facebook, Instagram, and my own personal blog while keeping up on reading and research has been keeping me wildly busy while I grow my new business! I will MOST DEFINITELY post content in the Patreon feed; however, it will often be content I'm sharing in other spaces rather than be "exclusive" Patreon content.

Any amount can be contributed to this vision starting at $1/month. Your payment method is charged monthly. You are charged the first day you become a Patron and then are charged on the 1st of each month following. You can cancel at any time.

Some of my favorite people guiding my way into the Patreon community include  Dr. Sharon Blackie and The Hedge School Layla Saad, and Polly's Paladar.

In closing:

Morrison's quote continues as she writes, "I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge — even wisdom. Like art."

May my art draw me into an even closer communion with my inner wisdom and native genius.

May the creation process be medicine for me and therefore yield an honest and true medicine for those who share elements of my wounding, my greatest joys and the stories that come from this mysterious journey.

Together we RISE.
