About Page Branson

Welcome to the Patreon of Legacy's Call- A Webcomic!

I’m Page Branson and I’m currently a retail manager by day, freelance designer and comic book artist by night. I also cohost an MCU podcast called Level 7 Access in my free time that I don’t actually have. My artwork has been featured at the LA Podcast Festival, on Nerdist.com, used as an album cover for comedian Jackie Kashian, Hot Topic (coming soon), hung in the old Colbert Report studios, and various other random places of geekery that I’m into. On camera, I’ve been featured on AMC’s Comic Book Men and was a subject in the film Ear Buds: The Podcasting Documentary.
As an impressionable child coming of age in the early 90s, I grew up on the afternoon dubs of Sailor Moon. Girls with powers fighting the forces of evil became my world. I immediately fell down a rabbit hole and devoured Magic Knight Rayearth, Akazukin Chacha, and Card Captor Sakura before moving on to Devil Hunter Yohko and Revolutionary Girl Utena in my later years.

Legacy’s Call is the culmination of my love of shojo style story telling: female characters, some strong, some deeply flawed, all fighting for what they believe in any way that they can.

Legacy’s Call is a “Magical Girl” webcomic that takes place in the time after a group of heroic girls saved the world. The Gaia Knights were a band of super powered teenage girls chosen to defend the Earth against an invading horde of malevolent, life energy sucking Demons. After many adventures, the Knights thwarted the schemes of the Demons and defeated their Queen, restoring peace to the world. The secret war between the Knights and the Demons came to a nearly Earth-shattering end and humanity hailed the young women as heroes. With the menace vanquished and the world at peace once again, the girls went their separate ways.

Our story begins fifteen years later in a world where humanity has settled into a bold, new future from the scars of the past. Remnants of the Gaia Knights’ war on the Demons still linger and old foes begin to resurface to finish what was started.
Iris, the daughter of the former leader of the Gaia Knights feels the pressure of the world around her and the need to uphold her family’s ever looming legacy.

Support through Patreon would allow me to spend more time on comics and artwork. It allows me to update more frequently and more consistently, devote more time to making the comics more detailed, and provide extra bonus content. The more I can work on the comics, the better the product will be. Although I do my best to deliver a great comic, I am currently squeezing the project into what little leisure time I have. The ideal of Patreon support is that it allows artists to cut down on their "day job" time and concentrate on their passions - which hopefully you are as passionate about reading and enjoying as I am about publishing!

But Patreon support is not all about me. As a Patreon supporter, you’ll get a bunch of cool rewards like getting the new page of the comic early, extra comics, a behind-the-scenes look at how a comic is made, and custom art from me! If you’re able to contribute to the comic in any way for as long as you’re able, please know it’s deeply appreciated!
Goals
$4 of $40 per month
Approximately $40/mo is what I spend on web hosting, art supplies, software, and various costs to produce the comic. This goal is the mere "break even" level where the comic would stop costing money out of pocket to publish. This level of support does not yet take any of the time I spend into account or allow me to increase that time.
