Note: This page is a bit inactive. I haven't been updating it much because I don't have a lot of time to post updates as I work. The project is still very much alive! Refer to  itch.io or Twitter for more consistent updates. 

Introduction

Hello everyone!
This is an RPG that I've always dreamed about creating. It will continue to grow and I hope that people will try it out and give me feedback along the way.

This demo version includes the game's intro, the starting town and an introductory quest. I hope you enjoy it!

At least once a month, I will be releasing a small update to the game. I am a firm believer in not charging for an incomplete game, so the game will remain completely free until it reaches approximately 50-75% completion. When the game is in this state, I will begin offering "early access" benefits to contributors.

As a result, I currently have only a single $1 Patreon tier, and it is entirely optional. I will not lock any secret updates behind it. 

When the game is complete, it will retail for $10-20 USD (depending on how much content I actually can get into it!)

Game Summary

A story-driven, puzzle based RPG inspired by classic SNES games like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and the Legend of Zelda.

It was originally created for the IGMC 2017 contest, but what was supposed to be a small game turned out to become the introduction to an epic RPG.

Features

  • Fast paced "Action Timed Battle" system that relies on strong decision making
  • Multiple party members with individual combat styles
  • Plenty of monsters, but avoidable combat encounters for flexible play styles. 
  • Crafting/Extraction/Enchantment system for weapons, equipment, and items.
  • Custom designed menus and interface
  • Various caves, dungeons, and towns to explore with unique puzzles and characters
  • Dynamic lighting, weather, and day/night cycle
  • Various side-quests for bonus lore, quirky NPC stories, and rare unlockables

Story Introduction

Over a century ago, a horrific, apocalyptic event known as the Great Cataclysm threatened to wipe out the world of Astravia.

Upon the brink of destruction, two heroes used their magical prowess to stop it, then vanished--overwhelmed by the power needed to stop the Great Cataclysm. The people of Astravia hailed their sacrifice, and for a while peace among Astravians was found.

However, this peace did not last. Tension began to grow and a massive civil war erupted between the major kingdoms. The kingdoms battled for strength and power, resulting in the deaths of many.

The war eventually ended, but it bred hatred and malice...
