Ya’at’teeh! Magandang Umaga Po! Činkololo! Osiyo! Wi Mwega!

What if the words of our ancestors are the key to remembering all that we are? What if their words are locked inside of us, waiting to be revealed to the world?

BLOOM’s mission is simple: to empower the next generation of speakers, learners, and leaders; to make Indigenous language education accessible; and to reclaim our histories one language and community at a time. We can’t accomplish this alone, though — work of this level will take collaboration, inspiration, and support — and that’s where you come in.

Our Beginning.
As you may know, BLOOM launched June 2018; but behind the scenes we have been working on this project for over 13 months! We are a small [but mighty] team of three women who are on a mission to change the course of our collective future; and we do this by creating digital spaces where Indigenous language acquisition is possible. Especially for distance language learners. Especially for those without living speakers in their family. Especially for those yearning to know and get started.

We hope you'll join us.

Our Value.
BLOOM works to provide learning course ONLY for global Indigenous and underrepresented languages. Outside of our courses, we also offer youtube language lessons, Indigenous language comics, and more [coming soon!]. By centering these linguistic communities, we make the bold statement that Indigenous languages are valuable and worth 100% of our attention, care, and effort.

Have you heard the amazing news about Indigenous and underrepresented languages? Research has proven that language provides communal support, strengthens identity, increases educational attainment, and increases confidence as well as lowers the rate of suicide among global Indigenous youth from Cherokee to IsiXhosa Nation.

And although new research is coming out on a daily basis, we do know this: when communities have access to their language they are in prime position to thrive.

Our Future.
BLOOM is far more than a technology, but a movement that is rooted in the important of past stories, present actions, and future possibilities. At BLOOM, we strive to snatch our histories back, reclaim our narratives, and create a powerful linguistic future for all descendants.

And this is where you come in again. We look forward to getting to know you, your story, and your motivations as you consider joining us on this journey. Thank you for your time!
