Thank you! You will get early access to all of my work which means you get to see new photos before they go up anywhere else, AND you will be able to listen to Patreon exclusive playlists curated by me with cool new (and old) artists you might like.
I will also drink a cup of tea while thinking of you, fondly. I've got some pretty good mugs, it'll be worth it. If you want I will send you a picture of the mug and the tea.
Please give me a heads up if you sign up for this and feel we might run into each other at a specific time because I a: need to buy the chocolate in advance and b: startle very easily
A long long time ago I moved to London and started taking pictures at gigs for fun to share with my friends back home. Things kind of snowballed and before I knew it I was half a decade in taking pics of big names like Blur, Radiohead, EELS, Weezer and Deftones, but also producing my own series of behind the scenes photo features of unknown up and coming artists and helping them get featured in music publications.
I eventually started a project covering bands, hip-hop artists and pop stars from Japan and Korea ranging from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, SHINee, Okasian and DEAN to Tricot, CHAI, Shugo Tokumaru, Cornelius, Say Sue Me and Jambinai which has been such a big hit that people have chosen to put my work on their actual real bodies to carry around with them for the rest of their lives. Can you believe it? I kind of can't but here we are and here it is.
Sadly I am no longer able to continue doing this without outside help. By now I've shot portraits, live photos and bts diary features of over 300 bands and events and am always striving for more diversity in music coverage and exposure for lesser-known and international artists instead of pursuing social media relevancy by following around, idk, Harry Styles. It has been an absolute treat getting to do this, but while the internet might make it look like I'm quite successful I've been funding this all of this out of my own pocket, and I'm afraid my resources have run out and I can't afford to take photos like this anymore. I make no money from it and therefore don't have anything to put back into what is an extremely expensive art form. But I still think it's important to keep doing this. Enter Patreon.
With your help I hope to be able to connect with people directly and make content that they'll love without having to cater to current trends, biases and music publications: I want to continue to create memorable photographs of established artists as well as showcase people who might not otherwise have that many opportunities to be snapped playing games, eating hummus and petting cats, so if this is something you would like to see more of then you've come to the right place!
If you subscribe to my Patreon I will be able to shower you with gratitude, postcards, playlists, prints, stickers, various other rewards and maybe someday pictures of YOU? The possibilities are endless. Every dollar will be invested into new photo projects (paying for vital things like film, travel and accommodation that will get me to where I need to be to photograph your new favourites) so the more pledges I get the more cool stuff I can create and give back to you.
You can make it happen! You're the best!
