Telford-based theatre company Lionheart Productions began in 2010 under the direction of Rich Kee, as an opportunity for university students who had performed together as teenagers to work together during the long summer break. The first two shows, "Blackadder Goes Forth" (adapted for the stage in aid of the charity Comic Relief) and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" were produced with small casts and low budgets, and despite the challenges we faced the performances were very well-received.

Lionheart went on hiatus while Rich finished his studies and worked with other groups in Aberystwyth (where he attended university) and in his hometown of Telford, but the company is now being revived with the local premiere of the hit puppet musical "Avenue Q" in May 2015. Rich is joined by co-director Kurt Hassall for this project, and even before rehearsals have started for this show there is already growing support for Lionheart to continue as part of Telford's growing amateur theatre community.

Your patronage will help us to buy and hire the necessary rights and materials to produce "Avenue Q" and other shows beyond, and to pay for high-quality venues. Rather than hiring a set and puppets, we are making our own from scratch.

All patrons will be publicly listed as supporters of the Company, unless they choose to remain anonymous. We plan to release YouTube videos featuring the cast (and their puppet friends) to directly thank our Patrons and keep them updated on the progress of the production, and give the public a taster of the show.

Current production status (updated 15/01/15)
-First round of auditions took place on 13th January, with a second round on 20th January. Casting should be finalized shortly after.
