What is the view from our window? We see the next chapter (yes, overused and cheesy, but it works). What does a window have to do with who we are? Windows reveal all.

We are April and Ken Pishna, mid-40 somethings (Crap! Fine! Almost 50). We’ve been together as friends since high school in 1987 and together as a couple soon after that. We are best friends (always), mortal enemies (not often), amazing parents. (Ha! not even close, but somehow our boys turned out more than OK.)

We are a sister, a brother, a daughter, a son, a teacher (one of my many careers), an editor (one of his few; he’s truly dedicated), craft beer lovers, snowboard enthusiasts, outdoor lovers, hard workers, productive members of society, homeowners, BBQ’ers for all the right holidays, much more than 9 to 5’ers, vacationers to beaches, mountains, and even out of the country.

Raisers of our two sons to follow their dreams, to be out of the box thinkers, to be stander uppers for those that are brought down, to use their hearts, their heads, and their voices to be conflict resolutioners. And they accepted that challenge. They are on their way, their path, their lives, their stories.

It’s tiiiime! (No, I am not Bruce Buffer), but it is time. Time to get off the beaten path (another cliche, but it works). Two roads diverged in a wood, and we chose the one less traveled…And it HURT, man! (Kid President, check him out; he’s hilarious.)

Time to get risky, get frisky, get ‘er done. Time to get outta the house (25 years, baby!), onto the road, into our RV, and fly! (OK, drive, but you get the picture.)

So, here we are. Starting fresh, almost 50, with no idea what we will see outside our window. And no idea how we are fully funding this, so if you feel so inspired to help us out, we do accept gifts, of any kind!
