Hello!

My name is Laura Millington. I'm a Canadian artist living in the southern US. I went to school for animation, but happily pursue any creative medium that strikes my fancy. That includes traditional art, digital art, costuming and sometimes writing. Animals, monsters and various creatures are my favorite subject matter, but I do try to push my boundaries with "less fun" subject matter as well.

At any given time, I have far too many ideas and too little time to do them. Most of my time is taken up by a conventional day job and working part-time as a freelance costumer, leaving me to put personal projects on the back burner. This Patreon is designed to help me be able to put more time and energy into these ideas and develop them into whatever I envision them to be. This covers everything from personal art work, to art dolls, to experimenting with new materials and methods for costuming while I expand my skill set in that realm.

Among the projects that this would help support are:

Code 3: (on hold for the time being) A comic project I'm trying to develop. Patrons will get a sneak peak at it as I work on it. It's being designed as a humourous slice of life comic. Eventually, it will be posted online as a webcomic.

Good Works Bears: My charity project that I work on when I have time. Using the scraps from my costuming work I make teddy bears that I donate to various places that can use them. In the past this has included Christmas toy donation drives and a local center that helps children who have suffered abuse.

Masks, Latex Prosthetics and Props: I am aiming to move more into the realm of creature effects and prop making with my costuming. Patrons will get a sneak peek of what I have in development.

So, how does Patreon work?

You pledge at one of the given Patron levels. Each of these levels is charged on a monthly basis...so for as little as $1 (less than the cost of a cup of coffee!) you can show your support for my work and keep me going. Whether you pledge $1 or at one of the higher levels, you will get access to content here that will not be posted anywhere else.

You can pledge for as long or as short as you like, or change your pledge level month by month. You will only be charged for the amount you opt to pledge each month.

A big thank you!  At this level, you get access to any sketches or other behind-the-scenes work I don't make accessible to the general public.  This includes photos of works in progress for my costuming projects.

Swag!  For your support, you get access to content I don't make available to the general public (like sketches, works in progress and behind the scenes photos of my costuming projects). You will also get something in the mail each month featuring some of my work - a bookmark, a mini-print, or some other small item along with my thanks.
