What I initially envisioned for this account was of a mostly archival nature; exclusive or first-look appearances of unreleased or difficult to find music recordings, writings, photography, artwork, etc.. That'll all happen unless I get hit by a bus. But in the context of this goal thingie, i'd like to look to future work.
One of the things i'm looking forward to is getting back into music a bit more seriously. As introverted as I've always been (you wouldn't know it from my online presence), I once had a fairly thriving career as a singer/songwrter/bandleader back in the 80s and early 90s when I lived in Baltimore. Got out of it partly due to the introvert thing, but that makes Patreon a perfect fit. I get to hide behind the computer and get it right before putting it out there.

Thanks to my lovely patrons, i have recently been able to purchase some recording equipment, and have already posted my first attempt.

Future goal ideas:

To continue with my portrait series, Kitchen Studio Sessions. This is something that came about as an idea for Patreon, and it's really coming along. Without my patrons this would not exist.

I have a new and lofty goal. Due to the extortion rates of the Orleans Parish property tax system, i am effectively being evicted from my home of 24 years by this ever expanding tax bill. I just can't keep up. However, i plan to make lemonade from this lemon. I am fixing up the house for sale, and simultaneously scoping out new properties -- specifically in Arabi, which is just across the parish line. That way i hope to avoid future tax madness from Orleans Parish. But this won't be a home, it will be a creative community. I am specifically looking at properties that combine retail with residence. Me and my son Booker will live in the residence part, and the commercial part of the place will be a bookstore/record store/coffee house, that will feature galleries and readings and performances by local creative people. It is sad to be forced from my beloved New Orleans, even if just a few blocks outside its border, but i'm looking forward to helping to provide an artist community for many of my other fellow New Orleanians who are being gentrified out of the city thanks to the heartless, corrupt, money-grubbing "leaders" at City Hall. Please help me make this a reality as us creatives can no longer afford to live in the city we love.
