I love what I do. Truly.

What I have is a passion to help people optimize their health and get their vitality back, through reducing and understanding oxalate. That includes making the diet work - and helping people to eat well and enjoy their food!

I fell into oxalate by accident, when my daughter was very young. She had some ongoing health issues and our naturopathic doctor suggested a low oxalate diet for her. He didn't have anyone in his office who could help us with it - I would have to figure it out myself. Long story short, I decided to be an example to my daughter, and go on the diet with her, so she didn't have to eat in this new way alone. I got the shock of my life when my own health issues started to improve! That got my attention. My naturopathic doctor had never suggested this diet for me!

A stunning realization - that you could need a low oxalate diet, and not be diagnosed - was what pushed me to learn as much as I could. I wanted to understand oxalate inside and out. The more my family benefitted by eating low oxalate, the more intrigued I became and the more I sought out a deeper understanding.

Ten years later, my daughter is well; I'm healthier than I've been in decades; and a new career was born. I've now been working with clients for over 6 years, helping them to reduce oxalate in their lives too, and watching them improve.

Could this be something that would help you?

Here's the challenge: there isn’t a course where you can learn about oxalate. There aren’t many experts who understand the true impact of oxalate on human health. In fact, you have to be willing to put in a lot of time in both learning and connecting the dots.

Unfortunately, the whole oxalate picture is complex and goes well beyond most single information resources (and this is assuming you aren’t getting misinformation from the sources you do find).

The right diet for any individual isn't necessarily a simple analysis. What if someone needs to avoid certain foods because of allergies? What if they have been eating a particular therapeutic diet, and now they need to lower oxalate too? What if they need to lose weight as well? It takes a significant investment to read and digest a wide range of sources relating to oxalate, to ensure a real depth of understanding. This doesn’t even include the need to read on new and emerging nutritional approaches, which can also make a profound difference when trying to optimize health, or the need to develop the recipes and meals that will work on a low oxalate plan.

Frankly, it’s all about connecting the dots. And that makes ongoing learning as well as recipe development absolutely essential  – and both of these activities take time.

So here’s my question: what if you and I become partners in this endeavour?

What your subscription to my Patreon site does is allow me to have time to do the deep dive. It gives me time to read extensively and build the knowledge so that I'm more effective, time to write the articles (and hopefully soon, do the videos) which will help me to help you and all my patrons. It gives me a chance to hang out in my kitchen and develop recipes that work for various exclusions. It gives me time to soak in the literature and continue to work on the business of connecting the dots. My intention is to provide excellent quality information, and allow you to select a level of support with the benefits that most interest you; your support gives me the chance to spend the time to produce a quality resource.

As an entry level partner ($5.00+ /month) -- I will be creating short, easy to read posts including topical and interesting health information that’s caught my eye, with low oxalate tips and tricks, including recipe hacks. Wondering what to do about a favourite high oxalate ingredient in your current recipes? There’s a substitution for that! And I'll share pictures of the the kinds of meals and dishes we do at my house, or share great ideas from fellow members, to help you with application of the diet.

This is straightforward, practical advice for those who aren't interested in more complex meal planning. You will learn about health and oxalate and how to substitute ingredients.

As a second level partner ($15.00+/month) -- You will get all the information provided to our partners in the first level, and more. Each month will feature a different therapeutic diet or specialized food exclusion and how that will work with low oxalate eating. This level aims to help those who are dealing with more complex dietary situations – to give them a “map” of what might work. There will also be articles on the research I'm reading, and how it applies to improving your health - with a special focus on oxalate, but touching on other common issues among members.

You'll get access to a new 3 day meal plan each month, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks with all the corresponding recipes, which build in the complexity of low oxalate with other restrictions and show you how you thrive and eat well. We will be looking at many of the common therapeutic diets, from low FODMAP to low histamine to low salicylate and more. Many meal plans will work for anyone – even if you don’t have the specific issue, intolerance or allergy. The idea will be to expand your food horizons! You will see that even if you have a limited food list, your life doesn't have to be about deprivation.

Second level partners get one of the biggest benefits of individual consulting with me – namely meal planning and specific recipes that apply to their situation - but at a fraction of the price. And each menu plan will help you to learn more about how a well-structured low oxalate meal works. Menu plans will have comments in the recipes, including meal planning tips. So you won't just be able to make one of my meals - you'll be able to make one of yours!

At Level one ($5 a month), you are paying only 15 cents a day to subscribe and get information that helps you do this diet well. At Level two ($15 a month), you are getting more in-depth information, bigger articles and that monthly menu plan all for only 50 cents a day!

Last but not least, the information on this website is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. As always, seek the advice of qualified health providers with questions you may have regarding specific medical conditions, or your own health issues. It's important to take good care of yourself!

I look forward to seeing you on Patreon. ;-)
