My history with creative projects has been bizarre. I had challenges accessing instruments and space to explore my talents without rigid pressure and it took me a long time to determine that I am a legitimately interesting and compelling creator. I had trouble absorbing common music terminology and theory so I felt like I was behind a curve that I later realized I was always really ahead of when I was able to get out of my own way. The reality of my life revealed that I just needed enough time and space with instruments and enough voices of supportive critique to nullify the voices of judgement and low vibe platitudes that clouded my ability to see myself.

I took a long hiatus from making music and writing from the autumn of 2011 through the autumn of 2016 to process a massive, eye-opening, traumatic, defining series of events. Since regaining my ability to create, I’ve been generating more worthwhile pieces than ever before. I do other things, but I am, first and foremost, a creator and my life has been developing around centering that quality.

What you are supporting here:

Let’s get real real realer for a minute. This job society sucks for a lot of people. I work with all kinds of amazing artists, including musicians, wordsmiths, movement artists, sound and video producers, visual artists… I have plugs for all purposes. That being said, I work with people who have active artistic careers, and I work with people who are still gaining traction. I seek involvement from broad scopes of people. Sometimes I work with people who consider themselves hobbyists. All of them deserve to be paid for their labor. The time and skill required to completely produce refined artistic works is often disproportionately valued by class, predisposed exposure, and market cliques. Social and business dynamic greatly limit who has access to resources and time to create work that is accessible to a general audience. The vacuum of negative space it creates leaves a long-term impact in humanity. Most people see what is there, feel sated in their scope, and never wonder about what isn’t there that could be. There cannot be “too much” art in the world so unless people suddenly stop liking new things, wanting to hear new stories, and fall in love with new music and characters, I’m going to keep boosting and producing new art. “Competition” is an illusion or a choice in art. There is an endless abundance of audiences and funding.

  • The basics
  • Designs for cover art, merch, and video works
  • Studio & stage accompaniment
  • Writing meetings & collab sessions
  • Administrative & marketing stuff -- It’s important, time-consuming, and requires apt management.

Space to make
There are some wonderful spaces to generate the stable, fertile energy that is foundational to performance/production-ready projects. I need my own. Having a sacred environment is a basic requirement to:
  • Draft and display ideas
  • Set up computers, instruments, cameras, microphones, and other gear
  • Meet with individuals or groups
  • Rehearsals, auditions, and jams
  • Writing meetings
  • Podcast/track/video recording, editing, and production

Other stuff

When we reach the goal of $349.99/mo, I’ll get the Zoom camera and start making weekly videos exclusive for Patreon supporters AND biweekly videos on Youtube for everybody to enjoy AND I'll start making regular original video memes for y'all on Instagram.

When we reach $2k/mo, I’ll launch a weekly post on luciferousshift.com that will vary in content. Maybe it’ll be a poem. Maybe it’ll be a rant. Maybe it’ll be visual art. Maybe it’ll be announcements of upcoming awesomeness. Maybe it’ll be an article about something you really needed to know about but never would have known you didn’t know if you weren’t messing around with me.

I've got more goals listed and I'll keep adding them as this builds more and more momentum.

Are you as excited and faithful as I am about how lit this is about to get? 👑😄

If you have any questions, you can email me at [email protected], DM me on Instagram, go to my mostly unmanned Facebook page, see the SoundCloud. Thank you for being here and wanting to get involved.

May we comprise peace and prosperity,
