Welcome!

Hey there, Internet! I'm Luxander, a non-binary trans person from Kansas. I'm queer, a gamer, a feminist, an atheist, and a YouTuber. I also live with depression/anxiety and ADHD, and have three fluffy cats. Pronouns are they/them.

What stuff do you make?

I have a YouTube channel! Luxander (clever name, eh?) generally covers gender, transition, feminist theory, culture, mental illness, and even religion. I also post vlogs and occasional cat videos. :3

My goal has generally been to educate, entertain, and share my experiences. I'm interested in trying out more formal, video-essay-like content as well, exploring various topics like the history of the alt-right on YouTube and the relationship toxic masculinity has with mental health.

[Unrelated to this Patreon, I also co-host the Trans-Atlantic Podcast along with my friend Cat, who is a British trans woman. Do you see what we've done there? *crickets* Anyway, there's an independent Patreon for that project.]

How does being a Patron work?

People generally explain Patreon like this: It's kind of like Kickstarter, except instead of donating to one project's lump sum, you're donating a certain amount per month or per post to a person or group that you want to support.

I tend to think of Patreon as a way to ensure that creators get paid for the work they do. And you can choose different rewards so we can give back some of the love you show us by supporting our livelihoods. We make cool stuff, you support our work, we make you more stuff.

My Patreon is set up so you donate a certain amount per month. This ensures that you know exactly how much you're donating, and I know exactly how much I'm getting. Simpler for everyone that way.

How do you use the money?

Right now, the Patreon covers my phone bill every month, and the rest is typically spent on food. I need to reconfigure the goals on this page, because I would like to reinstate my Adobe Suite, take courses on Lynda.com or something similar, and possibly move this to full-time status one day.

My content is free and will continue to be; don't worry that I'm locking anyone out with a Patreon paywall. Being a Patron just grants you access to content that wouldn't normally hit the web at all.

What's in it for me?

You can see all the rewards in detail over on the right if you're on desktop. On mobile, back out from this About section and check out the Rewards tab. =]

Goal Milestones

When we reach $250 per month, I'll donate something to a trans person in need every month, like a binder or bras or makeup or a packer. I want this to be open to as many people as possible who may need it, and I'd like to include a blurb about the recipient in a Patron-only post as well as putting together a note for the recipient with the names of the Patrons who made it possible.

Farewell

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my Patreon page! And if you made it this far down the page, thanks for reading (or skimming through it). If you want to become a Patron, I'm pretty sure there's a big coral button around here somewhere. And if you're not interested, or not able to support the page, I'd be eternally grateful if you would share it on the social medias. Your support means the world to me. <3

Goals
$93 of $250 per month
At this goal marker, I'll donate some transition-related item(s), valuing roughly $30-40, to a trans person in need each month. These include binders, packers, bras, gaffs, and cosmetics. I'll feature a blurb about the person for my Patrons and include a note signed by all my Patrons with the gift!
