MacMostis creating Mac, iPad and iPhone Tutorial Videos

Club MacMost will be an online group here at Patreon with myself (Gary) and MacMost's top supporters. I plan to make special short videos and posts for club members. These won't be like the tutorials at MacMost.com, but will be off the cuff tips, tricks, opinions, reviews and whatever else is on my mind. I'll only post these here, you won't find them at MacMost.com. Plus, Club MacMost members get a huge 50% off all courses at courses.macmost.com!
THE STORY SO FAR...
Over the past 12 years I have created more than 1,800 tutorials. To give you an idea of how many that is, if I wanted to make that into a DVD box set, it would need to be put on more than 70 DVDs! Most of the videos are how-to tutorials, teaching you how to get something done on your Mac, iPad or iPhone. I like helping people in this way -- teaching "how to" instead of being more like technical support.
KICKING ADS TO THE CURB
Before Patreon, MacMost paid its bills mostly from the ads on the site. But that revenue dwindled over the years. Plus, the ads seemed to get worse and worse. Using Patreon means the site can exist without the ads! Plus, now I feel like I really am making the videos for YOU, the audience, since MacMost is audience-supported. MacMost is now supported completely from Patreon and educational materials like courses and books.
REWARDS FOR SUPPORTERS!
So you'll notice that starting with the $5 reward, everyone becomes a member of what I call "Club MacMost" -- just my fun name for the group that will consist of me plus MacMost's best supporters. I post some extra things to that group. It is always evolving, I usually post some written and video pieces about various Apple-related topics. Maybe a tip or trick that I discovered, or how I feel about a recent piece of Apple news or a rumor. I post interesting photos or videos I have taken with my iPhone and which effect or app I used. I sometimes mention some apps, services or other Apple-things that I use or like. It is more personal than the regular MacMost videos. As a small community-within-a-community, Club MacMost will continue to change over time with suggestions from members and as we interact with each other.
THANKS, BUT NOT RIGHT NOW
So what about if you don't want to contribute, are unable to support MacMost, or just don't like this Patreon model? Well, my plan is to keep MacMost pretty much what it is right now. I'll still post the regular tutorial videos to the site, and I'll still send out the newsletter for free. You don't have to contribute. I know things like Patreon aren't for everyone.
OR, JUST GIVE IT A TRY
It is easy to start with Patreon, and it is also easy to cancel. I welcome you to try out the $5 "Club MacMost" level and then I promise you won't hurt my feelings if you decide to cancel later on. In fact, I'd appreciate your feedback.
ONWARD, TO THE FUTURE!
I'm very excited about this. I can make videos and post content to MacMost knowing that my viewers are supporting me, not ads from large corporations that don't even know that MacMost exists. The site looks great without ads. How many other websites do you visit that have no ads? Not many. I'm thrilled that MacMost is one of the few. And all thanks to its Patreon supporters!
Think about all of the sites you visit and how so many of them are overrun by annoying obtrusive ads. MacMost.com is already much better than most of those sites, since I just have two ads on the right and an occasional ad over the bottom of the YouTube video. But how wonderful will it be where are are no ads at all!
