Hi there! Welcome to Maker's Dozen!

We're an independent Canadian maker studio run by a wife and husband team out of our little log cabin and experimental workshop in Hastings County, Ontario. We create goods and services promoting maker values like curiosity, sustainability, and empowerment. We strive to use local materials, and collaborate with local producers.

Sometimes our work is physical, sometimes it's digital, but it's always about the maker spirit and growing understanding of the natural world.

Our first project is creating a simple mobile game for Android. We call it: "That Flipping Game". It is a work-in-progress and a labour of love -- a homemade videogame. It's just a little bitty thing, but it is a jumping off point for future digital projects and an experiment in making everything ourselves. Together we are making all of the art, music, fonts, game code, and engine. When it is complete, "That Flipping Game" will be available for free for everyone. No ads, no up-sells, just a memory game and a few moments of nature (and cute animals) on your phone.

In addition to the game, there are many other things going on at the Maker's Dozen studio. We keep a backyard flock of chickens, ever-growing experimental gardens, and steward a forest full of habitat for local wildlife. Come with us as we plant trees, hunt for mushrooms, raise chicks, build a robot or two, and share it all with you along the way!

Maker's Dozen: Try. Learn. Share. Repeat.

There's always lots to do at Maker's Dozen and we love doing it. Thanks for joining us -- let's go make something!
