I (Jiwan Shakti , aka John Stewart) and friends record under the name mantramatic, because when you tune in, the mantras are automatically transmitted from the infinite. I've been a kundalini yogi since 1990, and a musician since the 1970s, so it was only natural that these things would merge in some way. I've been writing and arranging what I'm calling "mantra music," for several years now, and started creating a basic studio at home to begin learning to record (steep learning curve for me). I've written several albums of material and am in the process of recording it in a real local studio. In the home studio I can produce fairly good recordings, but the real studio just has too many advantages--acoustic space, an engineer who knows what he's doing (thanks Bob!), etc.--not to use it, so I'm recording the first album in its final form there.

Our little band of mantra musicians can play live, but we have had a pretty hard time finding anyone interested--the bars of course want to sell drinks, and, well, mantra just is sort of going in the opposite direction--like more consciousness, not less. It's also been hard to figure out how to get a label interested, where to get streaming to happen, etc. I've built a website, got the first track onto CD Baby and thence to Spotify, and onto SoundCloud, and am uploading the first tracks to some creative outlets such as the meditation app Insight Timer. The first track has also been accepted by Pandora, and should be live soon for the general listeners (you can find mantramatic on there if you are a Premium subscriber). Anyway, I am determined to get this art recorded no matter what, and continue to work on connecting with an audience--this is my #1 thing, to connect. I am hoping to create enough interest to start doing local and regional mantra music events (in and around Sarasota, Florida), for instance at yoga studios and such places.

So where would patrons fit into this? You can help support this project just by listening, following (like on Spotify, or my website), liking, and in general helping to spread the word and grow audience connections for this positive, uplifting, spiritual music. Of course donations would be nice, too, to help defray the costs of recording and production. We are working to keep the costs down, but it will still be thousands more dollars to finish the recording, mixing, and finally, mastering.

What might you get? I can offer many, many intermediate takes to listen to, which might be of interest to see how the recording process comes together. Also I am hoping that you find the mantras themselves help you become calmer, more focused, and somehow happier just by listening.

This tier will get you access to the otherwise-unavailable "Inside Indi Beach Studios" page on mantramatic's website, which will periodically post a grab bag of stuff from behind the scenes--scanned PDFs of the scribbled track note sheets, production notes, mantric ramblings, and Buddha knows what else.

This page will be launched in August 2019 so if you donate now, please be patient til then.

These all combine to give you a gritty but still palatable view of the composition and recording process. For each month you pledge you'll get access to the insider page. Plus you get the ineffable blessing of  supporting mantric dharma to burn up your karma. What more could you want?

mantramatic pre-release dharma cat
$7 or more per month

This tier will get you otherwise-unavailable recordings of pre-release mantras in process from Indi Beach Studios.

For each month you pledge you get an MP3 recording of several (depending on the project) pre-release versions of mantra tracks in-progress. Some from the vaults, some from fresh juicy mantras, but all 100% organic and cage-free. Plus you get the cosmic blessing of supporting this mantra dharma. What more could you ask for?

When I reach 108 patrons I'll start a podcast series through which I'll release one otherwise-unreleased in-process mantra recording from my home studio.
