About Manu Cunhas

Hi, My name is Manu Cunhas and I’m a queer Brazilian illustrator that lives in Florianópolis with three cats, my husband, and tons of plants. I have worked as a freelancer in the editorial field since 2007 and in the past years I have been trying to focus on my personal stuff, posting on social media, and trying my luck with crowdfunding - I already published 4 books this way!

Today, my work as a freelancer is my main income, but in this way, I don’t have much time for my independent work. That's the reason for me to try out Patreon, maybe with your help, I can work on my projects with the right dedication. They bring light to LGBT+ issues, prejudices, self-love, and the importance of empathy in our lives.

Here some things that you can gain for becoming a Patreon of my work:
  • See my illustrations in first hand
  • WIPs and sketches of my main projects
  • NSFW arts
  • Monthly stickers
  • A special appearance in my webcomic or comissions

Projects that are running now

  • “Cateas and Books”:
My little gay webcomic about love, fantasy, and as always, cats.
“Sophie had just opened her cat library and the business is doing great, but she just can’t stop thinking of Aisha, her client and store neighbor.”

  • “Outras meninas” (other girls):
The project “outras meninas” was made in collaboration, people sent me their photos and stories about the relationship with their bodies. I used all that material to make watercolors illustrations that posted online with their identities on anonymity. The first part became a book and I would love to continue this work.

  • “Yoga no pants”:
A series of illustrations with Yoga postures bringing light to normalize the real body, after all to have a yoga body, you just need to have a body and practice yoga.

  • “Daily life”:
When I have time, I like to make little comics about my daily life as a queer illustrator, crazy cat lady, workhaolic, first time mom.

This is what I have for now. Thank you for reading all of this and I hope you can help me to make all of this happen!
