Good Bye Patreon

I am leaving by the end of this month. This system isn't working for me (it expects me to be working for it - but I prefer working for systems that pay me).
Still open for cooperation, still willing to help whoever is nice enough to ask for help - if I can. But not willing to play the US-companies game any longer ("create free content for us so we can make money from your content").

How do I ...

I like learning. My job description is "problem solver" and that is what I love to do: Give me a good problem and some time, and let me figure out how to get it all working. Then pay me by giving me a better problem. I enjoy explaining how I solved a problem, even if (most of the time) nobody is interested in that. That's what this here is for: Me explaining things.
In an ideal world, I would have the money to spend all my time on solving problems and helping people. Since this world is all but ideal, money is a problem I haven't solved. If you like me to explain more problem-solving things; please consider supporting me by pledging something (preferably money).

Current projects:

  • Houdini Cloth Simulation - based on my experience with creating cloth simulations (for several movie/show project) using bullet physics (a common dynamics library widely used in 3d tools from low to high end), Houdini and a self-written cloth-engine, this is my current project. Instead of creating video tutorials, I decided to go for another book. It is easier to update (new solutions to cloth problems are being published frequently), it is easier to digest (you can skip paragraphs and jump back and for without going insane) and it, hopefully, does not get funny feedback like "if I do exactly like you do it don't work, you are an idiot". Especially since this is about UNDERSTANDING things, not about faking a reel.
  • Houdini "1 Node 1 Video" - this isn't dead, it's just rotting a bit. Creating video tutorials takes (me) a lot of time and I am trying to concentrate on those that get the most feedback. Although I love this project, I was always hoping for some cooperation, which, so far, has not happened. I'll get back to this ASAP (the more feedback I get the sooner :) )
  • A book about programming - for those who never programmed, never wanted to program, but feel like they need to be able to program. This (ongoing work in progress) book is NOT about a specific language, but about the "how do I *think* if I want to tell a computer to do the work I get paid for?" - DONE and available from Amazon: Link to Printed Book and Ebook
