Some words on my curriculum vitae first:
As an artist, I have been active under the aliases Marcel Vilhjámsson or Skald D. for many years now. My current residence is Münster, Germany. I studied Cultural Anthropology, Nordic Philology and History at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany and graduated with a Master of Arts degree. Since that I have worked, amongst other things, as a teacher for Old Norse at the university.
Apart from that you maybe know me as singer, musician and composer of the bands "Helrunar" (https://de-de.facebook.com/helrunar) and "Árstiðir lífsins" (https://www.facebook.com/arstidirlifsins). Both bands have already produced several albums which have received critical acclaim. Stylistically, both bands are rooted in the Extreme Metal genre, yet we often transcend this genre lyrically as well as musically. A further musical project of mine, called "Wöljager", focuses on Dark Folk/Neofolk. First recordings for “Wöljäger” are about to begin soon.
During the last years I have also been working at the Wolfgang-Borchert-Theatre in Münster, Germany and served as an assistant director for the (locally well-known) actor and director Konrad Haller. Furthermore I have been creating literature such as poetry and theatre plays. I have recently started work on my first novel, too.
As you can see, I have constantly been working on various artistic projects; and now I want to try to make a living as a freelance artist (i.e. author, musician and dramatist). The main problem is, of course, the funding - not just for my own everyday life, but also for the many present and future projects I want to carry out.
Those who are familiar with my previous work know that all this is no idle talk. From the results of my work you can expect excellent quality on an artistically high level!

Currently, this problem concerns the funding of my theatre-play "Van´t Liewen un Stiäwen" which I want to perform with Konrad Haller as director at the theatre "Der kleine Bühnenboden" in Münster, as well as the recordings of my Neofolk-project "Wöljager" whose music will be also used in the play and – last but not least – the writing of my novel which will be a fantasy-novel, but with strong influences of history.
Like many artists, I often have to face great financial problems that can sometimes even lead to existential threats and thus affect my creative work rather negatively. So I hope to find a friendly patron here. Someone, who likes my art and who would be able to help me overcome the greatest financial issues.
From time to time, I am going upload samples of my current work to keep my patrons informed. Presently, you find some examples of my earlier musical releases here, which I created by myself or in co-operation with the other great artists I call my friends. The content I am going to upload for my patrons is going to consist of exclusive material: Lyrics, images, poems, descriptions of work-in-progress, impressions from the studio or maybe even freshly recorded songs other people are not going to hear before the official release date (which might, in many cases, be much later). Maybe you´ll also find completely unreleased material here sooner or later, just for your personal entertainment.
